Recently, the teacher starting the anime club at my school has hit a few snags... it seems our principal doesnt think that anybody would really be interested in an anime club, therefore we must make a poster and wait in the cafeteria having people sign up. But to do this, we need pictures to put on the poster, cool anime pictures. Can anyone give me links or pics THAT ARE NOT ILLEGAL OR COPYRIGHTED, so I can put them on a poster and get people interested in anime? Anyone?

Have you tried AniPike?
Alternatively, you could go onto somewhere like DeviantArt, or such, and ask some artists if you could use some of their original art in recruiting for your anime club.
Ideally, you'd be able to get in touch with an at least semi-gifted artist who could draw the original poster for you.
More than that, at your recruiting session, it would be good to have some materials on hand, like manga, or maybe some DVDs which you have planned for viewing at some point.
The difficulty in finding pictures from series, non-copyright, is that basically, everything to do with a series is copyright, including the likeness' of characters, meaning that outside of "fair use" copyright applies...

Isn't it still legal to use the photos, since it's for a school club, therefore for educational purposes? Unless you're charging dues at the club, then I think you should be fine using the pictures.
I doubt anyone is gonna get huffity overr a poster in your high school.
If they did, though, it's plenty of free press for your anime club!

It then becomes a complicated issue; insofar as, was the club, despite being linked to school, for recreational or educational purposes?
Oh! ADV's ADVocates scheme is pretty good. Look on their website for information.

I'll draw something for your club.
For a price.
Find someone in the club/who's going to be in the club and see if they can draw a deccent picture for you. If no one can, scower the internet for poor artists.

Dude, just slap some copyright info on the pictures. That's what I do for my posters. Every poster has the distributor's logo and copyright info somewhere on the poster (the current one is for Gundam 0080, and includes the Bandai Entertainment logo and Sunrise copyright info).
And anyway, I doubt anyone would care if you put copyrighted pictures on your poster.
Also, who is your principal to say that an anime club wouldn't be popular? What, because it doesn't have to do with literature or sports, it's not worth it? Whatever. He'll sure be dissed when the club gets filled up.
