The show that made being in your dad's top secret government organization cool again.

Conspiracies and the End of the World never looked so good.

I might have to check that out. I have not watched Evangelion in a couple of years. I wonder if they will show the uncut episodes like the ones on the platinum releases.

Most likely the first few episodes won't be edited, but the other
episodes might get edited.

It is the orgional releace, and I think Kim said that the first edit isn't until episode 5 or 8.

This Thursday? Gee, thanks for the reminder. I'm thinking about watching maybe three or four episodes just to see how much I like the series, and then buy the thinpak. Because it also has a Thursday airing (as opposed to Saturday), chances are, I know I'll forget to tape an episode somewhere along the line, and...well...I doubt it'll bode well.I get the feeling this isn't one of those shows I want to wait a week to see a new episode.

Is it just me, or has Adult Swim been seriously under-promoting this show? (b&w text commercials don't count) I know the anime only gets a fraction of the ratings of the comedy programming, but Eva could have Bebop-like cross-over potential. Even Paranoia Agent got more advertising.

Get the singles, the booklets it came with are worth it.

Actually Paranoia Agent got quite a lot of advertising during its first run. I just saw the first Evangelion advertisement during Inuyasha last night.

And as much as I adore NGE, it doesn't have the crossover potential that a title like Bebop does.

I will be watching if for no other reason than to see what they do with the opener and closer. I'm betting they cut out the former entirely. That would be a shame, since it's one of the all-time great anime openers, but it's probably a bit too strong for CN to show.

Not the first time, although one of several very sparing airings. A teaser was aired several times in August, and another promo aired on some random Saturday. Also, there has been a bumper promoting the show airing right after Aqua Teen Hungerforce for the past week. Paranoia Agent, however, didn't get any advertising outside of a bumper a few weeks before and an ad that aired the Tuesday before it came out. The only thing that really surprises me about the NGE advertising is that they seem to be promoting Boondocks as being "controversial" while ignoring the higher level of controversy EVA will likely cause entirely.
