Looking forward to these License Announcements. I wonder what the license that makes things fall into place is as i haven't been follwoing their releases too strongly recently since i import Region 1 Releases mainly.

At this point; the only anoucement that will make the pure bat***t insanity that has been Manga's business from the last six months even make remote sense is that they're closing shop.

"When we announce it, a lot of stuff will fall into place for British fans... They'll understand why we've been acting weird for the last six months."
*cough*Dragonball Z*cough*

"We announced the release before the contract was signed and then we got caught up in a bit of detail about who was supplying the materials to Manga."
Announcing something before the contract is signed seems a bit premature, but to actually have a release date for it...?
Of note regarding Angel Beats, someone (Sentai?) has UK digital distribution rights since it has been availabe to download on iTunes since at least December, but with no indication of who owns it (unlike all Manga's other titles). Since the HD version is £32.37 and dub-only, I'm waiting for the BDs ^^;

[edit]Having listened to the podcast now, Jerome actually stated that Sentai have the UK rights to Angel Beats.[/edit]

Regarding Case Closed, hasn't FUNi pretty much dropped the TV series? That's a red flag right there.

- Regarding Case Closed (Detective Conan), Mazandarani said it could 'potentially make a good licence," but he felt it was "too niche... We have seriously looked at it, but I'm a little bit concerned that in the long-term, it may not be commercial enough."

How could you even think a show that's been running since 1996 could ever be called "niche"?

Well i was speaking in realistic terms cause with a show that old unless they were to add translation notes and such it would be pretty hard for the western audience to understand. Detective Conan on the other hand would do quite well as most of it's influences are from the west.
