its too bad this site doesn't have access to manga that other company's already licensed (specifically the shonen jump titles). but good that they seem to be doing well.

Ahh about time it finally came out of it's little box.
However while I would like to support it, I can't stand reading off a screen when it comes to Manga. |

Although not a manga reader myself, I feel somewhat obliged to extend my gratitude to JManga for this act. It is hoped that the selection of titles available for subscribers will be subject to as little international variation as possible, though I cannot expect such a feat to be trivial.

That's the entire point of JManga. To give us access to manga that would never have been published in English otherwise. |

No kidding next week they're adding a manga adaptation of Karl Marx's Das Kapital I never thought we'd be seeing that over here. |

I'm pretty sure that's one of JManga's titles, since I bought volume 1 when I signed up. Unless the UK is left out of "worldwide", it seems like the UK can add access to the Morita-san digital volumes to its access to the Morita-san anime shorts on Crunchyroll.
Maybe its because I am not a heavy manga reader, but I quite like reading the manga with guided view, even on my 10" netbook screen. I first saw guided view at eComics, but since my interest in yaoi titles is nil or negligible, my reaction was "I wish the other online readers did this". However, sadly, most manga at JManga that I want does not have GuidedView. I find the YenPlus online reader tolerable on a netbook, because its one-click to 100% zoom, but it could be improved. But the online SJalpha reader, and JManga for titles that do not have GuidedView ... I'm not exited by the idea of spending more time resetting the zoom for every page than I do actually reading the manga. |

Upon inspecting the page corresponding to Morita-san wa Mukuchi, the 'preview' and 'purchase' buttons both appear in grey. This is not the case for titles appearing within the website's 'browse' section. |

According to the FAQ, when a title's preview and purchase buttons are grey, it means they are unavailable for the country you're in. Out of the titles that are available to me, Shin Chan is the only one that holds any interest then. Doesn't help much that the "Buy in Print at" link directs to Amazon.co.jp =3. |

Oh fudge! Other than clamor for it on the Feedback page (I just clamored myself) and politely asking Morita-san's publisher, Takeshobo, I don't know what to do about that. Goddam Real World! Why can't you ever be as simple as we want!. On reflection its not surprising ~ that many publishers are not going to all agree to jump from North American digital distribution rights to global digital distribution rights at once ... so global access to JManga doesn't mean global access to every title available at JManga. At least there won't be the "why do I pay the same price for less content" complaints that there are at Crunchyroll, since people can only spend their points on volumes that they can access (though of course if I get a job in Oz, I'll lose access to any titles without Australian distribution unless I am back visiting in the US). I think someone needs to put together a fan page that says which series have which access, since it doesn't look like there is any easy way to tell. |

Jumped the gun and signed up for a paid subscription before the March 1-4 promo was announced. Oh well. Mostly interested in the yuri titles, but of the three available, I could only preview and buy Girl Friends, which is having an English-translated hard copy edition printed later this year anyway.

Y'know what this means, right? This only means, let the excuses challenge begin!

Excuses, hmmm.... Let me try. I'm on a business trip right now, so I need to get to my home country and see which titles are available before paying anything. How's that? Btw, some chapters are quite expensive. 292 points (equalling to 2.92$) for 24 pages of "Morita-san wa Mukuchi"... why? |
