You do realize that the price includes a new 3DS.

Not too bad a price actually. The system launched for 25,000 yen and the games cost usually.. let's say 4000 Yen since they vary (seen up to 5000 yen, and some 3500 yen), which leaves 4850 yen for the collectors stuff of four art books, soundtrack, pins and poster.

Love Plus...are Japanese gamers really that lonely?
I could go out on a date with a real girl for less than that! |

With the title of the article talking about the weight of the complete sets, I feel the urge for an obligatory comment about the Love Plus girls putting on weight.

You could go on at least five dates for that amount of money (and pay for your girlfriend at the same time), more if you both have inexpensive tastes. But in the minds of these Otaku, for that amount of money they can take their 'Waifus' out on dates every single day until their 3DS breaks down five years later. Can't beat that value for money, although to get such a bargain you have to sell any shred of pride you have left. But Otaku are willing to give up their pride for the loves of their lives. D'awww, how sweet. |

The rationale accounting for the inclusion of the pins eludes me. I cannot appreciate how items of stationary so minor in dimension would capture the zeal of collectors.

These are Otaku we're talking about, they pratically validate their entire existence through collecting stuff. |

I was imagining decorative pins or hair pins, odd I know, but stationary never crossed my mind.
As do most fanatics. |

Calling BS on pushing the release date back for any other reason than to capitalize on Valentine's Day.

I think some of Love Plus players tried in the past to go out with real girls but they weren't lucky, or maybe they didn't bother trying because they have issues.

"Shortly after the release of Love Plus in September 2009, Japanese message boards became flooded with complaints from women from all around the country. The complaints regarded the game's addictiveness. Housewives and girlfriends were outraged, because their spouses became obsessed with the game, which in turn took toll on the lives of many families. Love Plus players started neglecting their families and responsibilities, in several cases to a point when it actually caused divorce." - http://www.giantbomb.com/love-plus/61-29319/
Awesome. I think its more like they start to play the game because they are curious, then they get addicted like that housewife with farmville. 'Just need to take Hanoko san on one more date and I'll get a Love point! sweet!' ... |
