I need to know. I love Noir, but Madlax, the first three episodes that I've seen, have been completely lackluster, slow, and boring.
It's not even the lack of blood. I think the show profits from it. But the story, characters, plot, everything about it is maddeningly slow.
Will the sucking stop? Should I continue to invest my time and money into this so far boring series?

Well... I was in love with the series since episode 2. I like the story, and I like the finale. I think you should give it a chance, but who knows... maybe you still won't like it...
Episode 4 starts the Enfant thing which you will either love or hate and I think this episode is a good moment to decide if you want to continue or stop.
After episode 4 it goes back to characters for another 2 episodes and then starts developing the "main" story from episode 7 without any real fillers til the end.
The pace definitely does not change throughout the show.

I liked it from the first episode and am waiting impatiently for disc 3 to come out next month.

I watched the entire show and I enjoyed it.
The concensus is that its a poor attempt at Noir (concensus....I don't quite agree, but thats me).

it doesn't even start getting good til episode 18, so if you're willing to stick around for that long, you might like it.

Madlax was made by the people who made Noir but it isn't Noir. I was a bit disappointed in the first few episodes but once I got past the comparisons, I started to like the series.
