Ok, I'm REALLY not a fan of shounen-ai at all, but I actually sat down and watched the first episode of Loveless.
I'll get this off my chest first; Yuiko is such a hot catgirl (screencaps of her are here)! 
Though I almost feel sorry for her especially the way her "friends" are treating her. 
Also, the opening sequece is just downright awesome and so trippy to look at. For some reason it reminded me of the OP and ED sequences of Chrono Crusade (given the fact the OP of Loveless was composed by Yuki Kaijira, and it was directed by the same person who did Chrono Crusade). And the psychic battles is practically one of the coolest things I've ever seen. Basically, it sort of done like a "turn-based RPG game" where the attacker (the first episode had another cute catgirl named Ai attacking) calls out various spells against the enemy and vise-versa. Of course you need to see this episode so you know what I'm talking about. 
And yes, there quite of bit of shounen-ai moments especially with Soubi and Ritsuka; we can't forget that fact even though I cringed at those moments. People from other forums already speculated that this series might become one of best shounen-ai series since Gravitation. |

its got a little bit of everything. Cat boys, cat girls, shonen ai, some angst, cool fight scenes. yeah a show im going to be watching this season.

The whole "battle" subplot the story reminds me of Utena.
But Boy Love and yaoi is just dripping from every scene. I hope Yuiko succeeds in stealing Ritsuka from Soubi. Soubi is as disturbing as Micheal Jackson, with his pale skin and sensual hair that covers his eyes. Those penetrating eyes that can see into a boy's soul. Strong hands that can protect a boy from the troubles of the world....<ahem> This show is evil, gay marriage is outlawed in 13 states, and Micheal Jackson.. is cute...not. |

I hope it doesn't come this. SPECULATION TIME!spoiler[Yuiko finally confesses but gets killed in the crossfire in battle, and then Ritsuka goes all depressed and angsty, and then Soubi "comforts" him and later Ritsuka loses his cat ears. ] Now I'm stretching it.

I heard that if DVDs sales are really good (of which I hope), there is hope for the producers to create a second season.
And for you shounen-ai haters out there, Loveless actually got an increase of male viewers when this Zero couple got introduced! http://www.animemusicvideos.org/phpBB/viewtopic.php?p=701936#701936 Savor this moment since that lasted a good few episodes!

Yeah, hopefully they do. It just 'ended'. I was kind of dissapointed about it. Does the Manga go on? I've only watched the anime. |

Yeah I was like YES SOME yuri like i said something for everyone. Ending was a letdown. Of course good news was at the Digital Manga Yaoi panel at ax the crow all pretty much yelled out Loveless in one giant fangirl and about 10 token fanboy mob when asked what they should liscence yet for manga. Gah I want more loveless. More Hitomi Sensei more Yuka and more of Semei's past. more damn it, |

the anime covers the manga book 1-3 but the manga goes on for longer i think its at book 5 or 6 at the moment.tokyopop has licensed the manga it should be out sometime next year. but the anime left an opening for a second series because if the dvd's sales went well then they can pick up from the ending instead of starting a whole new series.

that and theres that one scene were spoiler[Hitomi sensei is freaking out about Ritsuka and Yuiko run off or something" and she's goes "i hope they dont do something drastic" and she has a vision of them saying "lets lose our ears" ] Just wanted to make sure I wasnt the only one that thought that. just wanted conferation on my train of thought. |
