Well, before asking others, what do you think?

sorry, i forgot to mention that part- i'd say rahxephon, but i am not really sure since eva is very intrasting, but what the characters do is sometimes angering and annoying, but when i watch eva just to see the drama and action, without worrying about the characters commiting acts of right and wrong, i really love eva ... so i'm not so sure.but rahxephon has better animation and more likable characters...

id have to say rahXephon as well because its better in just about every way but then what else would we expect considered it was released a couple years ago when eva has been out for more than a decade (i dont know exactly when it first aired and too lazy to look it up). RahXephon also explains everything and leaves no unanswered questions while eva left me feeling weird and actually thinking but not the good kind of thinking but the bad kind were i was mad as to why i didn't know the fate to certain characters. eva is still really good and i dont believe RahXephon is a classic just yet we havnt seen if it will stand the test of time as eva has done because come on we are still talking about it and people will compare similar series to eva not RahXephon i mean fafner is already being compared to eva NOT RahXephon.

This is one of the funnier lines I've seen in this forum in quite some time.
And for the record, RahXephon was a 2002 release while NGE was a 1995 release.

I have to go with Neon Genesis Evangelion. I just hold it in higher respects because it was one of the first anime series I watched and really enjoyed. It proves cartoons don't need to be aimed towards kids. I'd like to see a child try to determine what is going on in the last 2 episodes of NGE. Rahxephon might be more coherent and visually superior, but NGE is from the days before the computer boom and as it always been said, NGE was continually running low on budget. Plus, End of Evangelion is one of the best movies I've seen period, and the recap episode they called a movie from Rahxephon isn't even in the same weight class.

I personally prefer Rahxephon. I liked the plot more, and the different kinds of blood just really made me like it more. Evangelion was a very good anime, yet I absolutely detest Asuka which is another key factor in my decision. I also liked the ending to Rahxephon more than Evas ending, so all in all i like rahxephon.

RahXephon. It wasn't as confusing, as well as the addition of the love story puts it over Eva.

i'd go with rahxephon because its got an easier plot to understand and has a more pleasant ending. also, i've watched eva when i was like 10-11 years old (uncut/Japanese sub) when it was 1st coming out and at that time all the anime i hav ever seen are the kids shows (transformers, pokemon, etc). when i first saw eva (especially the last episodes) the concepts were too much for me to take. it was like being thrown off a 100-story building. unpleasant feelings still stir when i think about eva's plot.
then again comparing 2 series' with a 10 year memory gap between them isn't fair. i should go bak and watch both of them over. but if i had to answer right now. i'd go with rahxephon.

I was planning on sitting this one out, but having just forced myself to sit through 2 episodes of Fafner I thought I'd wade in after all. It seems to me that the reason Fafner is being compared more to NGE is that it rips off just a little more of NGE than it does Rahxephon. For goodness' sake, aren't these people paid enough that they can try to think of something at least a little bit original? They even ripped off the name of the show from Wagner
As for the original topic, I like both for different reasons. If I was only allowed to take one of them to my desert island (along with a solar-powered portable DVD player of course) it would have to be NGE Platinum. Then I could spend the rest of my days trying to figure it out...

My vote is for RahXephon. I felt like I enjoyed watching the characters more than I did for Evangelion. It's not NGE's fault on this aspect, but I like the artwork better in RahXephon as well (I know there's a big difference in time, but that's just the way things work.)

Well I frankly choose to abstain and not choose. NGE and RahXephon both have there bad and good points and I like them both equally because of that. What annoys me though is when people say that RahXephon is a clone of Eva, these people obviously haven't watched either of the series in great detail.

of course NGE. maybe there are somethings that we can´t understand, but it´s very deep and really changes our view of life.

This being the Umpteenth Time i have posted in a thread like this.
Neon Genisis Evangelion Kicks Rah ou the window. In my opinion the art is Better than a good portion of the newer Cg art we see today. Pluse Rah was a cheep rip off of Eva.
but it really doesent matter which one is better it is which one do you like better.
