Toei Animation and One Piece

It looks more like there's a possibility of Toei releasing the DVDs themselves rather than FUNimation doing the uncut releases, as they have with previous 4Kids shows.

Or it could mean nothing at all.

I think 4Kids is probably going to shift gears to Geneon to Distribute their DVDs.

We can only hope this is NOT true at all. Toei's method of producing DVDs is the worst BY FAR of the domestic distributors. They're practically defective, they're that badly done. This would be, far and away, the worst possible One Piece release imaginable.

Toei has started to add chapter stops to its DVDs (recent review of Air Master DVD 3 at AnimeOnDVD stated this), but it still goes back to the main menu at the end of each episode.

Also, they don't place those extra words in the subtitles like they were doing.

I think it just means that instead of signing away ALL rights to everything with "One Piece" printed on it to 4Kids, Toei instead just sold them the rights to the dub/remixed TV series distribution rights, and retained, or at least split, the rights to ancillary products such as games, toys, and the non-remixed anime.

I said that because Ohoni is always preaching about how he thinks that the anime companies are all evil and they don't deserve to be selling us anime.
