I've noticed in the last few days that there are "Ads by Google" in ANN's search on top of the search results. I don't remember seeing those before, or at least not as many as I'm seeing now. Was it ANN's intention to add ads to the search, or is that something Google did?
Also, starting just sometime today, when I search and then click on a link in the search, I get a sent to a Google "redirect notice" page. The contents of the page includes a link to where I was trying to go and a link back to the search. However, I'm not being redirected at all, but instead I clicked on a link to go to the page it says I'm being redirected to. I do expect to be redirected to the fast server, but that doesn't seem to be what it is talking about. This isn't really much of a problem since I can click to continue, but it just seems odd that the search thinks I'm being redirected when instead I clicked on a link.

I haven't tried switching to the .com server or logging out, but it is looking and working normal for me at the moment.

I was logged in and on the fast server when I was getting the redirect notice page. Right now I'm still logged in and on the fast server, but I'm not getting the redirect notice page anymore. I only saw that page when I tried searching yesterday evening.
I am still seeing "ads by Google" on top of the search. I thought there didn't ever used to be ads there, but I'm not certain of that. Anyway, now I sometimes see up to four ads on top of the search results. However, the number of ads varies a lot (even when searching with the same search terms), so sometimes it gives me no ads, sometimes 1 or 2, and sometimes up to 4.

I switched to .com and logged out and I saw nothing different. I only got ads by google (and only two of them) when I misspelt something (I got the "did you mean.." and two ads).

The "Ads by Google" doesn't seem to be consistent. Sometimes they are there, other times they are not. I'm curious if this has to do with the search criteria, in that nothing's displayed if no matches are found. That's just a guess, though.
As for the re-direct, this is a new feature of Google, and it's to prevent bait-and-switch. Google will now preview the page and if it has a redirect, it will notify you and give you a chance to accept.
It's annoying, but given this is how "phishing" sites take advantage of people, it's a nice security approach.
Though, interestingly, the only reason it's annoying is because of how wide-spread the problem is.
Hope this helps, anyway.

The Google ads have always been there, but if they have nothing relevant to your search query, you won't see an ad.
