This is one of my favourite manga series, with its plot and characters, especially Killua! I would love to hear what other readers have to say about this series.
Recently, the quality of the manga seems to be getting worse, with just little sketches. I heard rumours that the artist is ill. Is this true? Any idea whether he's ending it soon? I sure hope that he's okay and the series won't end up like Shaman King. |

Well, he obviously isn't sick. The art has sucked for well over a year now. Correct me if I'm wrong, but he doesn't have any assistants, does he? Combine that with the fact that he's also been doing the YuuYuu Hakusho Kanzenban, and also touching up old Hunter X Hunter chapters to make the book releases better, and it kinda explains why the art is so bad. But it's still inexcusable. =/

If Togashi is sick, it's probably in his brain. (I love the man, I swear I do, but he most probably isn't physically ill. And we all know he has a crazy streak.)
Rumour has it he's ending HxH with the current arc. That's just a rumour, though. No one knows. (At this point no one even knows when the next chapter of HxH comes out, so.) The thing with the badly drawn, irregular chapters is ... complicated. I don't think he ought to be doing it, but the fact that he can get away with it shows that no matter how it looks, HxH sells. Else, the Jump editorial staff wouldn't have hesitated a moment to cancell it. So it goes both ways -- people keep buying, he keeps doing it. *shrug* |

hunter x hunter is still around?
i thought ended years ago. i thought this because any time i saw it looked very old and dated. now i know why did the anime end and the manga still go on |

It's at volume 20 in japan right now and still going? It was once very popular here in the U.S. Well It was popular, until Naruto came and swept the Hxh fans. So Now Naruto is like the King of Shonen series. The hype for HxH dye down tremendously and it doesn't seem like the anime will ever be license (anytime soon). |

I really like this manga, I think Gon is kawaii! On the cover of vol.1, he just looks so cute!

Everytime I look at the cover, I really want to pick this shonen jump title up. But because I'm already collecting so many shonen jump title and this is another long series, I think I will hold out. I already added another long shonen title to my collection: Fullmetal Alchemst.
BTW, anyone know when the first MAJoR arc end for HxH? I might collect the first arc just to see how it is. |

I've never read the manga, but I read a biographical note about the author-I believe the manga ended in Japan a while back. The drawing got sloppier because he just couldn't keep up with the weekly schedule. Apparently after the series ended he took some time off to work on his art, and his next series had more consistant art.
I saw a taped interview with a manga artist (don't remember who, but a rather popular one) who said that working quickly is an important part of making manga, and if you want to do manga-style comics you should get used to pumping it out every week. |
