I have like 3 different mangas I'm working on right now. Theyre all pretty cool.
No details will be released until I have a copyright.

Alright, I'll bite. If you have something that you think might do well, the post a sample page or two over in deviantART (add a watermark if you are worried about copyrights) and then post something here for us to look at.

He was on IRC earlier. Said he refused to post art because he didn't have a scanner, and didn't want people to steal his ideas.

Oh, and he didn't have Photoshop, but he said that artists who used the computer to aid in drawing were ripping off the computer...

Eh if anyone want to steal his ideas, they'll just replace a few names, make a few changes, maybe add in a "gimmick" or two and call it an "influence by". Anime smallmouth + sweatdrop

But I have a feeling that nobody would want to steal his idea since his work is probably amateuristic (like a lot of wannabe american manga) or there's just other better idea to steal (such as berserk and hellsing).

How the heck can you be drawing a manga and not have a scanner? If you ever plan on getting a company to publish something you need the scanner so that you can make the layout of the book (manga/doujin/graphic novel) so the publisher can print it. Plus now-a-days with everything being digital odds are some of the publishers would want to see digital submissions instead of paper.

Photoshop is ripping of the computer Shocked where the heck did that come from. At the very minimum you use Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro to clean up all of the stray marks off the scan.

The topic sounded like a commercial. Wow, I must be in the wrong forum. My bad. But before going off about your manga, start looking at Deviantartists before hoping to get published, there are some really good artists that are in high school or college. Then you can see how talented you are. BTW, there really isn't much completely original when people draw. It's natural that you get influence from other artists. If your manga gets published, people are going to get influence from you.

Heck yeah! I can't live without Photoshop and my wycom tablet. Just like 99% of all the other comic artists in the world. Rolling Eyes What kind of post was this, anyway? You want to brag, obviously, but show no work, or provide any information about how someone can check your stuff out.

And getting a copyright is simple. Go to the U.S. Copyright Office, pay the $30 fee, and tadaa. Also realize that in the chance you are picked up and published, you may have to sign a contract and all rights to your art will be given to the company.

Such as what happened to me. I'm being published in Sept, btw... and I don't feel the need to brag about it. Just like I don't brag whenever one of my animations gets into a film fest. Well... not often. ^^;
