hmm interesting, although panty shots, groping etc don't bother me much in anime anymore if at all "11 eyes" however being based on a visual novel/ergoe there is going to be some of that left in. The anime did an okay job but eh I still prefer vn's over the adapts in most cases..
Good work man the other two series seem interesting although I have no money to buy anything right now...

I found 11 eyes terrible, because it took an interesting premise and shot it to hell by doing almost nothing at all with the plot until the very end when they put it together. But by then, it's too late.
Couldn't agree more on the YYH - it's fun, but it isn't substantive. Losing some sincerity with the dub was almost necessary, and improved the show's quality many times over.

Yeah 11 eyes was total garbage nothing much really happened until the end. =/
I would have put in the the flushable column. Then again this is just my personal opinion.

Didn't even finish 11 Eyes, got around half way through. Didn't feel like they were trying to do anything interesting at all. It was like someone's Persona 3 fan fiction gone wrong.
BTW, this has been annoying me for a while, but I doubt anyone would complain if the shelf pictures were scaled down to something more manageable than 4224 x 3168. It's one thing for people to be careless enough to send them in that way, but to leave them that size is just...

Based on the artwork shown in your review? notimpressed.jpg
That design is a detractor from a series for me - the story and plot progression would have to be pretty damn good to make up for it. And this series sounds like it fails in those regards.

I think you hit the nail on the head. If you don't buy into the characters (which I do - YYH is one of my favorite series), then the show really starts to deteriorate after season 1.

Flushable is only for streaming shows. Perishable is the DVD equivalent... but I was interested in 11 Eyes for a few minutes, so it teetered on the brink of Perishable, but I actually liked some of the characters.

Thanks! A friend said that Hiei and Kurama are reasons to watch the show, but I'm just not into them!
I guess Yoshihiro Togashi is laughing all the way to the bank. He married the Sailor Moon creator and between the two of them they have the most successful franchises in Japan (including Hunter X Hunter).

I've never bothered resizing them because my browser always auto-fits them to my screen unless I click on it for the original size. But I can take the sizes down in future ones if it matters.

Erin: Maybe the wrong place to ask this, but what DVD-by-mail anime distributor do you use? I have recently terminated my 5 year patronage of a company that shall remain nameless (and not just for their, IMHO, bad business decisions...but I've notice a recent decline in their title selection...not to mention many titles listed have had a status of "unavialable" for years now).
Also, thanks for your reviews (the good and bad ones) as they make me aware of shows I would have never heard of ... thanks even to some your regular critics on this forum as they come up with great suggestions too ('Time of Eve' being the most recent one).
Thanks

When my browser resizes them I lose a lot of detail. Sometimes the only way I can read the titles is by clicking on to blow it up to it's original size.

refer to my first post, the vn is 10x better. They usually are if not always in this case and it does have an ENGLISH PATCH. However it's to the people here, I just wish anime producers would stop with the lazy adapts already.

Yu Yu Hakusho is one of the few works where I dont like the main protagonist much. My fav characters are hiei and kurama, especially in his yoko form, and of course the adorable yukina. I never got botan, she seems to be set as a possible love interest for yusuke, but ultimately I found her character wasted.
In hunter x hunter I probably favor kllua but gon is right up there.

How could you not like the characters in Yu Yu Hakusho? Out of all the Shonen Jump anime out there, Yu Yu Hakusho has some of the most likable characters. Yeah, I know the series slogs at times, but I've heard worse about Naruto and Bleach which are supposed to be the biggest series. Just sayin'.

I actually kind of like it when they send them in that large so I can actually see what they have since I'm more interested in what they have then how much they have. If the problem is the extreme zoom in, just hold the CTRL and press = to zoom in smaller increments.
Ah, YYH, not the best of shows but woo for nostalgia.

"Roswell that ends well" was one of the last really good episodes of Futurama, before they lost most of their original writers at the end of season 3. Just saying.
Prof. Farnsworth: You mustn't interfere with the past. Don't do anything that affects anything. Unless it turns out that you were supposed to do it, in which case, for the love of God, don't not do it!
Fry: Got it.
Prof. Farnsworth: If, for example, you were to kill your grandfather, you would cease to exist.
Fry: [gasp] But existing is basically all I do!
