As some of you may know, Bandai has been having some problems with their Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex DVD and soundtrack releases. But fortunately, they've been more than kind enough to offer replacements.
I sent my Vol.1 DTS and OST discs to them for replacements back in October and (finally) got them on January 27. However, today I recieved a check from Bandai in the amount of $1.06.
It's a laughable amount from such a large corporation, I know, but I was just wondering if anyone else out there had recieved a similar item (or amount, even). I guess it was suppose to make up for my shipping? Or maybe to compensate for my emotional and mental anguish?
At any rate, I just wanted to share that with you all.

Oh yeah, about that. Bandai called me today and asked me to tell you that they had misplaced a decimal point. Your check is actually for 10 cents and 6 hundreths of a cent.

No way. You mean instead of having the ability to get something off the Dollar Menu at McDonald's, I can't even get a piece of gum?

Argh , stop messing with me. Did you get a $1.06 or not? |
Yes, I got my incredibly large $1.06. In fact, the teller at my bank nearly fainted when she saw such an amazing amount. It's pretty useless, but a nice gesture at least.

(*sigh*) I see. Then I will sign it over to my father and get my dollar... . And afterwards, I'll use this single bill to save up towards the Crest of the Stars box set.

Originally, when the Special Edition of volume 1 was released there was a problem with the Japanese DTS audio track. The sound was completely absent from the left rear speaker.
As for the OST, all the tracks were out of order in accordance to the track listings. Two of them were supposed to be a single track, but instead were split, while two other tracks that weren't supposed to be joined, were.

Sounds pretty sloppy for such a notable corporation! As for the One Dollar and Six Cents.... seems like a practical joke to me, but hey, I would keep it as a souvenir.

It's a production error, and it happens to every company at some time or another. As for the check.. it's not a joke. I once got a 47 cent check from a company. I can't remember what it was for now. I didn't even bother to do anything with it, it costs more then 47 cents in gas to go to the bank and back.

Banda's doing a little thing, which is also the right thing. I greatly appreciate that.
