Talk about uncanny resemblances! Personally I find that an interesting plot is the deciding factor of whether or not I'll watch an anime/read a manga.

I always thought that Kanata was a cross between Yui and Lain.

The first one I thought of was Mikan Sakura (Gakuen Alice) and Sana Kurata (Kodocha).
As for what makes me want to watch a new show: interesting story is #1 (and so hard to find anymore). Then friends/reviewers recommendations. Then legally streaming because I don't like downloading anymore. |

What makes me want to watch a new show? I choose look of the show even though that is technically the 1st choice I go for. What I look for is does it fit into a genre that I am a fan of (aka harem, otaku show, etc). Second choice is how the show looks. Third would be the source material if I have read it already, or played it.

I second that resemblance! I also have a few of my own to add: -Syaoran from Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle and Suzaku from Code Geass -Tomoyo from Cardcaptor Sakura and Yasuna from Kashimashi I could probably think of more if I sat down and thought about it, but those are the two that immediately come to mind. |

Kenta Usui (Karin) and Ichigo Kurosaki are pretty similar.

It was very hard to choose just one factor of what'll make me watch a new anime. Half the reasons listed would be a reason for me to check it out.

Yun and Yang's appearance from Street Fighter are actually inspired by that of Duo and Trowa.

I love the anime look-alike. I do play around with posting look-alikes on anime forum like Crunchyroll and Funimation forum. I would have laugh and amazement when I post look-alikes.
Can I nominate Amber (Darker then Black) and CC (Code Geass): Amber CC Edit: fixing picture of CC Last edited by mdo7 on Sat Sep 17, 2011 10:53 pm; edited 1 time in total |

While watching Great Teacher Onizuka, I couldn't help but notice how much Kunio's mom, Julia Murai, looks like Revy from Black Lagoon.

I just watched Project A-ko, and the first thing that jumped at me was that A-ko and Girl Ranma look a lot alike. A-ko is more subdued than Ranma, but they're both pretty awesome fighters. Hell, in the first 20 minutes of each program you even see some boobage, so they also have that in common!
Tenma and Mahoro have the pig tails thing going for them. Though I don't think they have much in common aside from that. If she wasn't so red, Kneesocks would be a dead ringer for Natsuko Aki from Re: Cutie Honey. They're so alike, I wouldn't be surprised if Imaishi said that he carried the idea over directly from Re: Cutie Honey since he did work on both of them. I have a theory that Kyoko and Yui from YuruYuri are the future versions of Chika and Miu from Strawberry Marshmallow. They don't look a lot a like, but Kyoko=Miu and Yui=Chika are the exact same people. Ichigo Morino and Chiaki Minami are twins separated at birth...and a couple years. Chiaki is more aggressive, but they've both sneaky, little bastards. With the emphasis on little. |

I'm not the first to point out the resemblance between Sana and Akito from Kodocha (I agree with the Gakuen Alice comparison too) and Miki and Yuu from Marmalade Boy.
Before Tsubasa, Clamp loved to cross-pollinate. Hotoko from Angelic Layer and Tomoya from Cardcaptor Sakura are dead ringers. So are Hikaru from Angelic Layer and Hikaru from Magic Knight Rayearth. Another thing that really struck me last night was how much Sae from Magic User's Club and Duck from Princess Tutu resemble one another. (Of course Junichi Sato was involved with both - so that's probably the link?) Last edited by here-and-faraway on Sat Sep 17, 2011 5:27 pm; edited 1 time in total |

Oh...too many to name.
Let's start with the Weiß Kreuz boys, and their new jobs with the GetBackers: Yohji & Paul and Ken & Juubei. Oh, and Schwarz's own Schuldig moving on to Saiyuki to become Gojyo while Brad seems to have found work in E's Otherwise under the alias Eiji Sagimiya (don't have the pics handy for that). The god Zenon in Saiyuki brings things back around to Getbackers (must be a pun in there somewhere) with his resemblance to Ginji. Leonid from E's Otherwise is clearly an Ericks fanboy, although he's kept Vash's glasses. And Getbacker's Shido is a wannabe Sanosuke, although he needs to let his hair run a little wilder. Minor characters move around too: Darker Than Black's Huang & Moss from Wolf's Rain. I don't remember this character's name (Saint Beast), but he looks to me like a young version of Sanzo. And a Menos Grande vs the Monster Without a Name? And then there are the characters that look like real people. And other things... Sorry, got carried away! |

I would say Lacus from Gundam Seed/Gundam Seed Destiny and Euphemia from Code Geass. Not only are they lookalikes but I think they have very similar personalities.
