I actually purchased this manga as a two volume series when Tokyopop was still a major player, but I am certainly glad that it won't vanish with their setting star. Will anyone be buying the omnibus?

Ooh, never got around to picking up the Tokyopop version, and don't quite know if the translations is any good. (My default to a Tokyopop title is suspicion on the translation until proven otherwise.)
Regardless, I probably will buy this when it comes out.

I will. Glad to hear they're still releasing it, granted I already sold my Tokyopop volumes, figuring Dark Horse will give it a 'special edition' release with a superior translation. The manga version of FLCL is a far darker and more bleak version of the anime's story, which made for both a shocking and compelling read.

The story sounds quite intriguing. And it will be the cheapest series I have ever collected if it is just a single omnibus volume. I will very likely be getting it

What I wish for is an omnibus of the novel adaptions...the third volume of that is really hard to find these days.

Looking forward to it.
Now off to forgetting about it for a year...

Well, this is pretty cool for those who missed out, but I wish companies would pick up titles that Tokyopop never got around to finishing instead. :/

I can certainly attest to the art style being interesting and experimental. That was one of the series' strong points I thought.

I always like hearing when news of FLCL comes up like this. I had made an effort to purchase Haruko's model of Vespa a while back as well but lost that bid. However, I give myself only a 50-50 chance that I will be purchasing this as i'm more involved in getting my anime collection up to date, and money doesn't fall off trees; it is made of them though.

Actually, it often doesn't grow on trees, since many countries use cotton or mulberry fibers to make paper money.
Well, I suppose mulberries grow on a sort of tree

I saw on ebay recently that someone was bidding more than RRP for the Tokyopop versions. They will be gutted to find out that Darkhorse will be re-releasing.
