1) Why is Asuka's suit being held together by colored tape?

My guess on that is hopefully there will be a glorious wardrobe malfunction

How many more remakes Evangelion needs?
All versions of Evangelion from 1990s were good but messy since, as authors admitted, they tried to invent something to happen right on the place.
Recently, they just can not stop making more and more versions.
What is the point, really, if conceptually single Evangelion is actually complete?

There's Eva.
There's EoE.
There's Rebuild.
Only one of those is "recent".
And if you've seen the Rebuild movies, then you would know that this is not just a remake

I just hope it's good, because after the 2nd movie everyone's expectations are going to be through the stratosphere. |
Indeed. A year's not bad. I'm just thrilled to see an approximate date even announced.
Given Rebuild's track record so far I'd say Quickening will be able to stand up to the previous 2, and maybe even raise the bar. If any remake can do this, it'll be this one.

Cant wait! Was looking to go back to Japan next year and next fall sounds like a good time to go Saw the first film in theatres on my first trip to Japan in 2009 and I'm so glad I can do the same with 3.0.

To be fair he's probably also referring to the manga versions that include:
Sadamoto's own 'Neon Genesis Evangelion'
Evangelion: Angelic Days
Evangelion: Shinji Ikari Raising Project
and the 'Neon Genesis Evangelion: Campus Apocalypse' brouhaha
I'm eagerly anticipating this film. Damn it's gonna be so long! I avoided the camrips and watched the direct feed subs that released, then picked up the first two films on blu-ray. Hopefully given how far away this release is they can work on bringing out the English blu-ray as close to release as possible.
Though on the plus side, the delayed English blu-ray releases usually use the 'fixed' versions of 1.11 and 2.22 that come out in Japan later... So I figure we get the better deal from a delayed release by waiting for the inevitable 3.33... Thoguh given how far away the film is you'd think they have enough time to get it right the first time...

Evangelion is a very personal story for Anno and also his magnum opus. That makes him its greatest critic. It's quite likely that he always feels a need to do something different or better.
