Doesn't Oda ever get tired of breaking records?

that only a record since oricon started to put the numbers the the top 3 in the 1st week r 2 slam dank folders ( folder 24 sold 2.3 folder 29 sold 2.5) and the the last dragon ball folder ( sold 2.2 ) and those numbers I understand cause those 2 were gr8 mangas and all people loved them not like op most of fans r kids and girls animenewsnetwork.com/interest/2010-11-15/japanese-working-women-polled-on-one-piece-manga and lets assume it is only 20% that means 1.5 million working woman at least and the rest r not working women and kids that is mean one piece = twilight = justin bieber so popular but also awful Last edited by syrianmj on Wed Aug 10, 2011 6:55 pm; edited 3 times in total |

As syrianmj mentioned (with additional pointless OP bashing however) Oricon has only been counting the manga sales for a few years (sometime around 2007 or 2008 maybe ?). Obviously, those records are still impressive but one must remember that fact when reading this article.

At least you where able to understand what Syrianmi posted. I understood Dragonball and maybe Slam Dunk, but the rest is just gibberish. And the record is still impressive, but one wishes Oricon had been collecting the numbers beforehand so we could compare. |

Adding on.....I'm a girl who loves One Piece and I HATE Twilight. OP is a million times better then Twi-fail. Please don't try and stereotype me and others, syrianmj. =/ And at this point it is no surprise on how the sales for OP are doing. |

What truth. Most charts the depict the demographic breakdown of OP readers show that ~40% are 19-29, ~30%30-49, and ~10% are older than 50. As far as the demographics go the truth shows that majority of the fanbase are not kids and are older than Twilight's fanbase.

That's a inaccurate statement. Most One Piece manga readers, about 88%, are actually adults. The majority are between 19-29. Anyway, you must feel a bit silly. lol Here are the stats: animenewsnetwork.com/interest/2011-02-09/nhk/9/10ths-of-one-piece-manga-buyers-are-adults |

WHERE do you get your sources. You always say some stuff and pretty much ALWAYS without a SOURCE. It is not that I can't believe that Slam Dunk and DragonBall sold more in a week than OP but without source all your "Facts" are pretty much without meaning. Like for examaple your "statement" about who reads OP which was already PROVEN wrong by Guren Alchemist4.
I want to add that most girls between 10-20 don't even read One Piece like it can be seen in this Demographic Breakdown: http://www.sankakucomplex.com/2009/08/10/top-10-manga-of-2009-demographic-breakdown/ |

Be careful not to confuse buyers and readers. |

Most people who buy it probably read it too. In Japan it is probably that the teenagers read the Magazines like WSJ and the people over 18 buy the Volumes. However it is not argueable that a LOT of Adults are reading it. There are seen in Trains etc. Do you know where the statistic from the provided links comes from? It was a documentation about OP from NHK where they answer the question of why whole Japan does read OP EDIT: Here are the videos Part one: http://v.youku.com/v_show/id_XMjQyODY5MzI4.html Part two: http://v.youku.com/v_show/id_XMjQyODY5NDIw.html Because you probably don't speak japanes here are the most important bits of information tranlated: http://one-piece.livejournal.com/1303920.html[/url] Last edited by Hospodar on Wed Aug 10, 2011 6:48 pm; edited 1 time in total |

That's a possibility, and a strong one at that. However, with the circulation of the volumes, the buyers and the readers aren't necessarily the same people. How are the readers represented in terms of percentage ? We have no way to know. All I'm saying is not to extend the results of a poll about the buyers to the readers because that makes the demonstration false. |

I know that you are a troll but here are the male buyers: TOP 10 OP Girlfriends: http://www.sankakucomplex.com/2010/02/20/top-10-one-piece-girlfriends/ TOP 10 perfectly proportioned anime girls http://www.sankakucomplex.com/2010/10/17/top-10-perfectly-proportioned-anime-girls/ And to anyone else who isn't a troll. The previous statement is that males and females alike read OP and that not one gender is obvious the "ruling" Nobody ever said that females don't read One Piece. THey do and most of the are over 18 Edit: Yeah I forgot to mention it but you still haven't provided a source where I can see that Slam Dunk and/or Dragon Ball sold more in a weel than One Piece. Therefore your statement is proven wrong until a believable source is presented. Not that it actually matter that or if One Piece sold the most in one week.
In that you are right but my statement stays that the majority of readers are over 18 and this is hard disprove with the statics we have. And I have editet my last post with the videos and a translation if you are interested, or anyone else for that matter. Last edited by Hospodar on Wed Aug 10, 2011 7:13 pm; edited 1 time in total |
