Strange, I though new zealand only bans films if it's injurous to the public good as a whole. (English: Harmful to the public)

I found Puni Puni Poemy to be amusing, but there's certainly enough questionable content in it to justify why a more conservative nation would want to ban it. (Lesbian 10-year-olds having erotic fantasies?!?) New Zealand's supposed to be generally more permissive than the U.S., so the reason why no one in the States has raised objections to it so far is probably because it's a minor title (even by anime community standards) that's flying under the radar of conservative watchdog groups. There would almost certainly be a fuss about it if it were more popular.

I can see why they ban it, it's annoying the second time around.

The only thing I found that was really objectionable was the two crucifixes with the two characters placed in a fairly similar way that Christ and the two thieves were placed. I didn't exactly like that, however, I bought it anyway because the rest of it was ok.

Not exactly.

The Religious Right are more intwined with readily accessable realms than specialty realms. Unless it's "mainstream" then they won't spend the time or effort to root out such titles. If this wasn't the case, Right Stuf wouldn't have been able to release certain parts of Cool Devices, half of the US DVD Hentai Market would collapse, and many Hentai Sites on the net would never keep parts of their servers in the USA.

The one thing going towards ADV is that they have never shown Puni Puni Poemy on TAN or any TV station period. If the religious right saw that on TV, or being sold in Target, then they would seriously put up a fuss.

Is it because Puni Puni Poemy doesn't meet the same high standards set by Meet the Feebles?

The moderators would seriously ban my arse if I even described it. But it's in a Hentai Video Game.

there is actually a blockbuster that is near the house of my friend that carries, or carried I saw there in august, a copy of it. We were walking through and I was like whoa! they actually have that in a blockbuster. I wonder what parents would think if they saw there five year olds renting it Wink

and for the people in new zealand. It isnt that much of a loss to lets say cowboy bebop or something very good being banned Very Happy
