I've noticed a couple of posts on here by people who say that they can write but can't draw, but want to see their ideas animated. Unfortunately, those threads are now locked, so I'm going to reply to them with a new topic.

I was in exactly this situation a year ago. I had some fun ideas for some anime-style animations, but I couldn't and still can't draw very well.

So, I started calling the Art Department at various local universities, asking them if I could come in and interview students for some animation work I had. They gave me access to their job posting website, and after some work and a few interviews, I found folks willing to work on my idea. I now have five different people drawing for me.

Did this happen immediately? No. Has it been easy? No. But I've gotten this far, just because I pursued my dreams.

Am I tooting my own horn? I certainly don't intend to. I want to encourage everyone who dreams of making anime. You can do it. Just find a way.

I've hired most of them. Some just weren't interested in the sort of animation I'm doing.

Thats a good i dea and all but if you dont have money you're screwed. But also having some one else creating your artwork. I know you probaly get to watch what they are doing. I still dont think that anyone can make the characters as better that you probaly imagined them.

This is not true.

Besides, even if you do pay money, how much money do you think you need? Anime artists will often do a full-scale colored and shaded drawing for, oh, $10. Animation drawing isn't nearly that complicated, so doesn't need to cost as much.

This isn't true either. Some of Otherspace Production's artwork is better than I imagined it.
