Yeah, it's called the Cartoon Network. No, The Anime Network is in the Phill area for the time being. If you want anime on TV that bad, watch Tech TV, Internation Channel, etc, etc, etc, then again, you can always BUY Anime DVD/VHS tapes at Sunscoast, Fye, etc, etc, etc or at the online stores like ones listed on the front page like Right Stuf and Robart's Anime Store. Or you can wait.

I still think that's a matter of interpretation.
To a hardcore anime fan/Japanese purist, the show may not have much integrity. But to your average adult Cartoon Network viewer, it probably has more integrity than most of Cartoon Network's programming. It's humor that your typical Adult Swim viewer should be able to appreciate, and I can appreciate that - whether it was original or not.
The dubbed version is different. But unlike the Cardcaptor Sakura or Escaflowne dubs, this dub has been changed to better suit its natural demographic in the society it has been introduced to. That's an admirable goal if you ask me, and even more admirable if you consider that they've pretty well pulled it off.
If the televised version is not to your liking... Need I even suggest buying the DVDs and watching the subtitle tracks?

Back to the original topic (Anime Network), Is there any word of increased availability, now that Comcast owns 80% +/- of the cable industry? I know that they bought AT&T Broadband a while back, but I'm just now seeing Comcast commercials, and tv guide magazine.

I used to love fansubs... but i dont bother much anymore. I much rather buy the American release. I mean we gotta support it somehow... and fansubs dont really support the creators of the anime like domestic releases do.
My fansubs have been steadily replaced with the domestic releases... allt hat's really left is Master Keaton and a few obscure titles. But anime companies have been good at releasing the good stuff lately.

The only word so far is that ADV is taking the channel to NY next and that they are talking to satellite companies.

The problems with an anime network will be the same one we're seeing with cartoon network. US TV is for morons, so it will show only edited dubs.
I for one could care less whether it lives or dies, since I'll never watch it.

Actually, the shows are uncut. Dubbed, yes. Edited, no.

The only thing I agree with is "US TV is for morons.", well, 75% of the stuff that is out there. But, if you are going to whine about edited anime on TV that much, buy the friggn' DVDs. Skip the middle man and get it from the source.

Comcast owning 80%? I dunno, but from what I have seen seperate cable companies dominate different areas. There is no Time Warner etc. in Saint Louis, Charter controls cable in this area
