So they should have a twitter and facebook account, something that every other manga company already has, up within five months. Sounds rather speedy to me!

Well, I've already resigned myself to never getting to read the rest of Life, but I sure wish there would be some word on the Del Rey titles like Suzuka and School Rumble. Unless I missed something about them. It is disappointing that they're pretty much saying that Yozakura Quartet is dead in the water though.

I'm curious about something I came across on Amazon, which is the first four volumes of Parasyte being rereleased next week. They haven't said a word about it, so it's just interesting that that's on Amazon. Maybe since it's only 4 volumes, they're doing it in 2-in-1 volumes?? Just odd that they'd do that without so much as a peep.

Seriously. He could've set up a Twitter account in 2 minutes from his phone AS he spoke at the panel. It's that simple.

Am I the only one who wants the NegiPa/Negima Bible books released here? I kind of wish Kodansha would answer on the possibility of that.
Also, they might not want to be hounded too much about stuff such as the Del Rey licenses which is probably why they're taking so long to be on social media.

I certainly want the bible. I see it at Kinokuniya every time I visit one...
Anyway, they're seriously putting all of Negima in omnibus form? lol I hope they don't make the Nibleys redo their own translations  At the very least, inconsistencies and errors/typos should be fixed. And there were few of those.

Haha. Both a Facebook and a Twitter could be set up in less then five minutes. I think in this day and age it ridiculous not to have these and especially so in a rather fan rampant if not. They probably have a reason for doing so, like the one said above about avoiding hounding from fans wanting unfinished Del Rey.

Darn, I was really hoping for better news from Kodansha. It seems like all the titles I want them to finish are getting dropped. I want Nodame Cantabile, Ghost Hunt and Pumpkin Scissors completed. I have given up on Alive, Hell Girl and Le Chevalier D'Eon. Plus I really am surprised they do not have a digital plan. All the other manga companies have been able to present digital versions, some at better prices than others.

Well they're just getting started, so they're likely to be focusing on getting the books out and making money. I imagine that they'd need to hire another person or two to handle social networks if the current employees don't have the time or "expertise" to do it properly (Twitter's easy, but Facebook could require some knowledge and patience, especially when it comes to dealing with comments), as that person will inevitably be somewhat of a voice for the company.

Same here. The fact that the last English releases so far for both were omnibus editions already indicated low sales, and I noticed several volumes of both series last time I was at Book Sale.

Kodansha better release the end of these books. If they don't I don't think I can give them any of my money in the future. I already know how Suzuka ends, but I want the last three volumes to finish the series. Not sure how School Rumble manga ends.

All of Le Chevalier D’Eon was released, it’s just that the series ends abruptly.
I’m pissed off about Pumpkin Scissors though.

Good to see Love Hina get license-rescued. My copies of LH are all the first print runs Tokyopop released years ago, so getting a newer, better translation and likely and overall better release will be worth it. I may have to pick up those omnibuses from Borde... oh, nevermind. Well, maybe B&N will have them, but I won't hold my breath. Their selection sucks compared to what Borders offered. I'm probably going to have to get used to ordering online and dealing with the wait time. That's why I like brick & mortar. I can drive up to the store in 20 minutes and grab what I want the day it comes out. No wait, no shipping, no hassle.[/tangent]

I'll second this one. Negima's been my favorite manga for years, so having those official guide book thingies in English would be great.

The real question isn't "Why is it taking them five months to join some social networking site?" It's "Why does it matter?" I go to Kodansha's site, see when the next volume of Negima is coming out, end of story. I don't see what the big deal is with them joining Twitter or whatever.

Indeed, in both fronts.
I'm really hoping they re-release and complete Alive: The Final Evolution, because it was such a fascinating series, and while I haven't read them personally I'm always crossing fingers that series will see their final volume released in the US instead of being hanging.
Give it time, everyone. They're just starting up here. Let's be patient and see how things go.

I think it goes from disappointing to outright frustration in my books. I love Yozakura Quartet and would genuinely have bought more releases. Volume 5 ends at the beginning of a new story arc, too. Man, manga's been taking a beating lately.
