Oh yeah, I can't wait for some second party to work their "magic" in messing with the color in DBZ. I'm sure it'll be as awesome as the "Remastered" version they did on DVD.

This is a step DOWN from the DVD Dragon Boxes. Nice job, Funimation.

Sounds like the same thing they did when they "remastered" the season sets.

Except no cropping this time (I assume)

I'll stick with my Dragon Boxes which were properly remastered.

Plus I'm not a fan of blu-ray.

Oh boy, BDs of the obsolete version?

Why even bother? I hope people enjoy their 10 minute stare downs again. I could never watch DBZ again after Kai

Not a fan of Blu-ray? Lolwhut?

Unless you mean you don't own a Blu-ray player/PS3 and a HDTV?

The Dragon Boxes are about to be finished. Time for the next set of releases for DBZ!

..................................................

I have seen some properties milked in my day...

But this. This just... I mean it's Funimation. And it's Dragon Ball. But you're... you're kidding, right...

They managed to sabotage their DBZ releases time and time again on their first 3 attempts (and they angered many fans by cancelling Ultimate Uncut to focus on the butchered "Remastered" sets). On attempt #4 they finally got it right by simply porting over the Dragon Boxes, which still remains Japan's definitive release. Fans know this is the best they're most likely to get for the foreseeable future.

Meanwhile, they're releasing Kai on DVD and Blu-Ray at the same time, counting as release #5.

Now what you are telling me is, that before Dragon Boxes and Kai have even finished their run, they're announcing trump card #6!? THIS IS EPIC RIGHT HERE.

Amazon and Funi just made a ton of money offering the Dragon Box sets last week for 60% off to those that hadn't yet taken the plunge. 5 days after the sale ends and presumably after ridiculous amounts of units sold, Funi announces this.

EPIC.

Personally, I'm content with the dragon boxes.

Would rather see dragon box releases of the original, but far be it from me to rain on bluray collectors' parade!

I didn't mind the remastered version, but I am not sure on this one. No offense Funi I love you, but I will pass on this. Never was a huge fan of DBZ to begin with.

It'd be pretty sweet if they could do a bunch of branches with both dubs and the two music tracks.

Depending on how well this comes out, and if they include the Faulconer music, I'll get this. I never planned on buying DBZ, but it is a huge piece of my childhood, so why not? I already have Sailor Moon, might as well get the other half.

And before you attempt to mock me, penguintruth, I know you hate the Funimation DBZ dub and Faulconer's music. No need to get on your pedestal. The entire internet knows already.

Yeah! I totally wanted these in 1080!

Rolling Eyes

1080p of the awful remasters? No thanks.

Can we PLEASE have the Funimation Music BGM Sound track! I hate the Japanese Sound track. If the Funimation sound track isn't in I am not buying. That is the main reason the Dragon Boxes mean nothing to me.

Yeah, you totally shouldn't have to watch DBZ with the music it was intended to have!

Relax. It'll probably be just like the orange sets, with the Faulconer/Menza garbage on it, and the old dub cast, with Naldony, Vollmer, and Young.

This is the only thing that they announced? I'm glad I didn't actually hype this one up!

Honestly, I doubt I'd realize much of a difference with this, so it doesn't mean much of anything to me.

Last I even watched the dub on the orange bricks, I could barely even hear the Japanese music. The mixing was down right terrible, where the volume for the voices and sounds completely overshadowed the music.
