Yes, VJ's anime loosely follows the games. They added Junior (a kid who idolizes Captian Blue) probably because Joe had nobody to interact with outside of villians, and judging by Samurai Jack, a hero needs dialog with someone.
The new girl, Sprocket, is probably for fanservice
Makes me wonder if Sylvia will become a hero, since it could follow the second game down the road.

Uh Konami developers (who were behind the Contra series as well as a few other titles) have already left to form their own company as of 1993.that Company is known to many gamers as treasure, creators of hits like Gunstar Heroes,Gaurdian Heroes,Radiant Silvergun and so forth. If the developers of Nintendo should start their own company, i'm sure it's more of a artistic license thing. In other words, they may want to produce games that are outside of the "kid friendly"demographic, which the big "N" is notoriosly known for.

This sort of already happened when Rare left, since Rare was one of Nintendo's biggest hitters, making best-selling games like Star Fox 64, Banjo-Kazooie/Tooie, Donkey Kong 64, and Jet Force Gemini. Nintendo lost a powerful ally when Rare decided to leave. (To be fair, they were never a full part of Nintendo, but rather a second-party company.)
Also, while Nintendo is trying to hold onto the "games that anyone can enjoy" concept (not only with content, but also in the "simple, but deep" strategy), they have recently been trying to mature their image with the release of games such as Metroid Prime, Eternal Darkness, the new Zelda (to be released in 2005), and the whole Resident Evil series, especially the January release of Resident Evil 4 (which it now turns out is heading to PS2 about a year later, despite numerous assurances that it was GCN-exclusive). However, I doubt they would ever raise the Gamecube's "age" any higher than "everyone's system", up from the original "kiddie" perception.
