It's a shitty anime that should never have been made. Why the anime has no ending. It's a 40+ wasted of time with a stupid made for TV ending that doesn't conclude anything all. If they had covered the entire manga or ended the story arc like the manga did it would have rocked. But the way they did it makes it a waste of time. Do yourself a favor read the manga and drop the anime.

It didn't look appealing to me. I like the whole shonen action thing. But Flame Of Recca didn't look like it could stand with shows like Yu Yu Hakusho and sCRYed. I could be wrong though. By the way nice avatar iloveyuuu.

The anime isn't that great compared to the manga which is really awesome. The anime only goes up to like volume 12 (or 14) out of like 20+. I had animes based off mangas that only go to a certain point. Like Berserk only went through like 30% of the first 13 volumes and Hajime no Ippo only goes up to volume 33.

This is an awesome MANGA series. Forget the anime and pick up the books. They're already on volume 8 or 9 so you'll be able to read ahead in the story.

The manga is truly great, and has "The Best Ending of any Manga Ever". The anime, I thought, was still very good. True, it only covers the first half of the series, but the thing I loved is that at the end of it they were all like "But we didn't tie up this plothole, and you brought up this thing we never got to just four episodes ago!" I found their honesty about it to be refreshing and humerous.

Overall, my suggestion would be to watch, and enjoy, the available anime. Then start reading the manga from about volume 13 on (there's some overlap because the anime compressed the last round of the tournament). You can also play the GBA game, which covers the last arc of the series and is pretty fun, or the PS2 game, which I haven't, but I hear it covers the last arc as well (and apparently uses a "Dragon's Lair" mostly animated approach).

It would be cool if they had a "season 2" of Recca, or at least an OVA, but unless it lands on CN and hits BIG, I doubt it'll happen. The mangaka's done with the series, even going so far as to change the name of his production house, and has fully moved on to MAR, which is also a good series.
