Quite correctly the Baratack alter ego is the one who has the poorest performance, just exactly like in the horrible original series... I wonder of all the series they could pick, why they'd go for Baratack.

Agreed. Moe and mecha go together like oil and water.

I think Bara-tan's umbrella drill is cute.
It could be a fun title.

I consider moe to be an artistic dead end. But that's another story.

I watched all those series when I was a kid, I really don't see the issue in what Toei is doing now anyway.

And for me Toei Robot Girls is a desecration of everything Super Robot Anime had stood for since the 70's, Nuff Said!

You mean advertising plastic toys to young children so they can bug their parents into buying said toys for them? Because I see no difference between that and the hilariously transparent marketing ploy that Toei Robot girls is.
Don't get me wrong, I love me some big robots, but seeing mecha fans of all people call something else in anime an "artistic dead end" is laughable. It's literally the pot calling the kettle black.

I think Toei is doing this project for another reason: it could be a "test" of sorts to determine if Toei could eventually phase out the Pretty Cure franchise in favor of something like this.
Don't laugh: Toei might be approaching the limit what what they could do with the Pretty Cure franchise in terms of storytelling and they might be interested in doing something quite different--and the Toei Robot Girls concept could be something that could evolve into a real TV series on the Sunday morning Nichi Asa Kids Time programming block on TV Asahi/Asahi Broadcasting.
