More Yamakan drama. Guess he's been too quiet for while. I can understand why he wouldn't want someone to mooch off the massive "success" that was Fractale.

Seems a bit unfair to call it "riding on others coattails" since she was probably contracted to draw the adaption, although it does seem odd/in bad taste to post about not liking your work on your blog.

Looks like the manga is exactly like the anime.

Wow. That was blunt. I honestly can't blame Yamamoto for making that request because the mangaka really acted inappropriately. If she was really that bored she should have brought up her concerns behind the scenes instead of posting that online for the world to see. Frankly it comes across as very unprofessional. I wonder if it will just go on hiatus and they'll hire a new artist or if it'll just get canceled. (Or if the higher ups just tell Yamamoto and Akazaki to STFU and hold Akazaki to whatever contract she has.)
Does anyone know how much of the anime the manga's already covered?

Fractale was awful anyway so I don't think this is much of a loss. But I doubt Squeenix will cancel a source of income just because he wants them to.

It's her online dairy. She can complain in all she likes. People act like the only viable material online is PC(positive crap).

Well, it was really unprofessional for the writer to do such a thing. I do not disapprove of the director's steps. I wonder how far the story has progressed in the manga...

There is such a thing as being unprofessional, though. Online diary or not, if it's able to be viewed by the general public somebody is going to see it (and obviously did).
It's the same thing as going on Facebook or Twitter and bad-mouthing your boss. It's public, someone's going to see it, and there are probably going to be repercussions.

Oh Dramakan.
Does it count as riding on his coattails if Fractale wasn't actually popular? Both attitudes are kind of screwy, but Yamakan manages to look like the bigger jerk.

She called her artistic work on the project "uninteresting" in at best a passing comment which did not attack or bad-mouth Fractale itself. A quick look at her blog entries shows what she probably considers "interesting" to draw. Yamamoto is making a mountain out of a molehill over an innocuous statement that is just the artist's opinion.

While it was certainly in bad taste in a (we must only speak of positive things - world), calling her riding on coattails would be wrong because a) Fractale wasn't all that great anyway and b) if she was the one contacted and contracted to do the work it's not riding on coattails if you're perfectly willing and allowing her to do so before you get upset.
She called her artist work "uninteresting". That doesn't sound like bad-mouthing to me and it just looks as if Yamakan was looking for some more drama.

Sort of hilarious you would talk about "what she said" when you clearly haven't read the blog entry in question. I don't like Fractale or anything, but her message was clearly unprofessional and referring to the original source material.

riding on people's coattails.
Says the man who made a killing off of the Haruhi franchise. I suppose he's upset that even the people he hires finds Fractale to be boring and pretentious.
