Thanks so much for drawing attention to this. (I just placed my order!)
The covers are so much more beautiful than the old releases that it's quite ridiculous.

Does anyone know if the movie is going to be part of this project? Included in the third box, or otherwise given a re-release uniform with the series?

Pity that TRSI isn't offering this one at a special price they way they did with the first set. When I pre-ordered the first set, it was going for $26.99.

Somebody in this forum said that the movie was going to be re-released through Nozomi, but I have no idea if it will be a stand alone thing or part of the third set.

It was only at that price because they had a Nozomi studio sale, sadly I doubt they're going to have another one before this set releases.

With today being Thursday, I wouldn't be surprised if it ended up being a weekly special when the site updates. I'm going to wait and see if that's the case and then make my preorder.

Well I guess I can pre-order it after the first set arrives at my door considering that I haven't seen Utena before in my life.

Ah yes, I had forgotten that. Don't get me wrong, I think $37.49 is a fair price for this set (actually, $33.74 for those of us who have GotAnime membership), but $26.99 is even MORE fair... Wink

Oh, I completely understand! Getting this release at $26.99 would have been icing on the cake; Utena is one of the few series I'm willing to pre-order without a studio sale involved Very Happy.

It would be nice to have another TRSI/Nozomi Entertainment sale again. However, that occurred last month. I just might have to pre-order this and Sound of the Sky (Sora no Woto) so I do not miss out on the limited edition goodness.

Popped in an order for this, Durarara part 3, and the last Tokyopop book I'll ever order (the 4th .hack//gu novel just made its release date, apparently.) Oh, and a button of a panda playing a guitar, just to use the $4 off coupon I got for taking a survey at the gotanime.com website. It seems silly to spend $3 to save $4... but it is a dollar profit. Plus I get a button. Wink

Confused

I don't know what to do here. I've never seen Utena, but it seems like something I'd like. I already have the first set preordered, but I'm actually a little scared I won't like it now, since I'm feeling pressured to order all of it, which would be a ~$90 investment, which would be my second biggest blind buy ever. Now, that first biggest was all of Slayers (well, at the time, so seasons 1-3, movies, and OVAs), and I LOVE Slayers. My third biggest is Moribito, and I love that also, so I seem to have good luck with expensive blind buys.

There really is no debating, because I'm going to preorder this sooner rather than later, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't nervous.

I feel ya, TKoH. I sampled the first eppie a while back and didn't really dig it. I have read some comments that suggest there will be things about this series that will drive me crazy. I still ended up pre-ordering the first set (the artbox looked so cool!) thus ensuring I'll have to order the other sets.

*sigh*

Bye-bye rationality, hello anime.
