Yuri != hot two girl action in hentai/elsewhere. Yuri is a subgenre of shoujo, therefore it's targeted towards a female audience. Think Oniisama he, Maria-sama ga miteru, Utena, etc.

I am a guy and I really enjoy Maria-sama ga miteru, I've seen the first season and fallowing the second season (Spring) and the Maria-sama ni wa naisho just cracks me up.

Altough the main target group could be females I have find that females would more likely go if it where about Yaoi and shounen-ai, especially since Yuri attracts loads of guys.

Either way conventions and exibits are awesome, if you can go to one, go, 1 out of 10 could change your life forever, atleast such things happen if your an artist.

I know that. It's just that like Stitch already said, many males like Yuri. Also, Yaoi, the target audience for Yaoi is also females.

It's not so unbelievable. I know someone whose (straight) parents met at a gay bar.

And hey, I'm a guy and I don't think that lesbians are hot. Or more accurately, I used to. Damn you, Darren Aronofsky!

Lesbians, how I love them so...but actually I have yet to read a true yuri manga. Hen does involve lesbians, but since it seems that yuri is a subgenre of shojo, Hen couldn't qualify (its by the same guy who did Gantz, so I'm sure you can imagine why its pretty infamous).

You may want to actually *visit* the Yuricon website - ALC Publishing has been putting out 100% yuri manga in English for two years now.

ALC's yuri manga catalog - http://www.yuricon.org/shop/engmanga.html

Yuricon is targeted towards anyone who likes yuri, men or women. Our demographic is about 50/50 over the nearly 800 members of our mailing list.

You guys might actually want to go to the website and take a look, http://www.yuricon.org or join the mailing list http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Yuricon, and see what's really going on in the world of yuri.
