No anime exists based on Toho kaiju. There may be some cameos that anime creators added, but I can't think of any off the top of my mind.

One thing's for sure, the tiny girls from Mothra would be real cute with a capital C.

There was an American animeted show based on the American Godzilla...but I'm sure that's not what you're talking about.

actually, i can imagine an anime version of godzilla.
But i think it would be close to the american version of godzilla except for the animation-style then |

Animated Kaiju wouldn't be the same, so no. You can't get the effect of people walking around in rubber monster suits destroying little buildings in an animated version of it.

There is, FWIW, an anime version of Ultraman.. UltraNyan.
No, I'm serious. There was also a sequel. :) That kinda falls into the same sorta line as the earlier mentioned monster movies. |

Yep, IIRC, the plot was about some monster "disguised" as a Asteriod and Ultraman fought him on the surface of the moon i think. (Saw this when i was 5, that may explain my seminal recollections of the Anime.) |

There'd be no need to. Animation makes impressive what would be hokey in live action . . . |

Sorry boys, but THERE WAS an animated film version of Kaiju Toho in 1970. It was "3000 Leagues Under the Sea" (1970) created by Shôtarô Ishimori.
This is the proof: obviously the kaijus were re-touched to avoid legal copyright problems... |
