I've been waiting for a standard dvd rlease since the blu ray came out. I heard they had planed on it but never got a date or anything, and since japan gets both dvd and blu ray releases i find it a little insulting to us the consumers when they alienate people who dont use blu ray format, but thats just me and i ll probly get a lot of flack for this post but im frustrated about this.

Bandai has said that they have the license- I assume they're just waiting till the series is finished so they can release it in a complete dvd set or across 2 or 3 discs within a few months of each other [which'ld suit mass market retail], rather than release it on 6 dvd's with large waits between them [which is more of a collector's thing, and sort of covered by the bluray editipn]. I'm also assusming that waiting till the series is finished will allow them to price the dvd release lower than the bluray one.

Last October I was personally informed that a release within the first half of 2011 was planned within my local region . Though this word came from an authoritative person, it was informal, unofficial and appears not to be indicative of any current plans within the Bandai Namco Group.
Thus far, the experimental release structure of Unicorn brings with it a modicum of frustration for those with little interest in the latest storage medium.

Yea Bandai are crazy! They prefer screwing over there fans as much as possible without making profit. At least from what I've seen that is my impression of how things are run there. I'm not for torrents at all but they are just asking for this series to get pirated they way they release this. Not everyone owns a 360 or Ps3! DVD's still are the majority in sales so this makes no sense at to why they would do this. Even if the anime is beautiful looking.
