Since they have the license; I would think they so. They have the right to do so, don't they?
The existing dub is pretty bad so I guess I'm going to have to go subtitled for now --__--

I've had the Gantz Classic Line release for over a week now, and no, they didn't make a new dub--the original ADV dub is intact. And it's mostly a great dub, so I don't see the problem with not redubbing it.

The current dub of Gantz is pretty bad, since when?
It has the right amount of yelling, cursing, and performances that fit the characters. As an added bonus the women in Gantz don't all sound like each other or like drama queens.

Oh I am usually a dub proponent but this one just seems really cheesy and the main character doesn't sound like a teenage boy.
The story itself seems interesting so far though, but I think that it would benefit from a new dub.
I will keep watching it though; maybe the dub is not as bad as I am thinking; maybe it's just me. : P

Yeah, it's just you. xD. But anyway, good to know.
But wait, you asked about the DVD, but you say you're watching it right now. Do you own it or not? Or...what? I was lucky to get it from Rightstuf early last week.

It's funny because usually I am on the other side arguing for dubs but I guess there is a first time for everything.
No, I don't own the DVD I am watching it on the computer lol.

and how should a teenage boy sound in Gantz? If I had a choice between these Gantz characters sounding like they currently do or sounding like the pip-squeaks on YouTube I would pick the current dub. The voices fit the characters more and that is what matters, not their ages.
Plus the VA that die the voice of Kei is back at Funimation and would probably repeat his performance.

Well, there were many things wrong with Gantz. The dub actually wasn't one of them in my opinion, but to each his own,

The only big problem with the show(besides the obvious: the end) was the pacing. And even then, it's still awesome.
But w/e. Like you said, teho.

Considering Funimation hasn't re-dubbed any other older title that they license rescued (FLCL, Trigun, Love Hina, etc...), I find it doubtful they would change that mentality with Gantz.

although it has been said, I too would like to say this, i thought the dub was pretty good and enjoyed the whole series dubbed, a re-dubbing is not needed or wanted IMO

The dub was really rough for the first few episodes, but after that it was one of the better ADV dubs.
And Kei sure sounds like a teenager to me.
