used Livingsocial.com for the $20 for $10 amazon GC... Hope Weshop is on the up and up or my CC will be hearing from me. |

I just bought one as well, though I did do a little research on WeShop first. Not that I don't trust from others on here that it's a legit site. I just like to think I'm a little cautious when it comes to who I give my credit card number out to on the internet.

Just FYI to everyone, I don't know anything about this. We've never put together any sort of promo with WeShop. I'm not really sure why they are selling gift codes for the RACS store site, but I've never authorized it. I checked our GC manager and don't see any new gift certificate codes in there today that were not purchased directly from our store site. A GC code won't work on our site unless it's in either our GC our coupon manager database. Those are both closed systems. The only way they could generate a legitimate gift code for our store without being integrated into our manager would be to actually purchase it on the store site through the transaction process. Of course, I suppose it's possible that WeShop might actually have a staff of people that would come in and manually buy a gift code from us and then send it out, but nothing is showing up on this end. I'm quite concerned by this. I'm not saying they are not legit, I'm just saying we don't have any relationship with them. If one of you guys don't mind, could you PM me the confirmation e-mail with the gift code to [email protected]. I'd like to have our fraud team look into this further. A couple of people have sent me their WeShop confirmation e-mails and all it says is 'Thanks for your Purchase' and that they will be sending over your gift code in 2-3 days. It's possible they will be contacting us in the next day or two to buy a batch of codes (we've had other promo outfits do it before), but so far we haven't heard anything from them.
If anyone has actually gotten an RACS store site GC code from them, or what looks like one, I'd like to know about it. I've also send WeShop managment a message. I'll post again once I hear back. Bob (aka Robert) President The Anime Corner Store |
