I don't think it matters anymore, I usually prefer dubbed anime but the new Pokemon dub voices are terrible. And as much as I dislike 4Kids, they made great choices for the character's voices. I hope one day they decide to rebub the entire series for an uncut release and put back in the original Japanese names of the human characters as well as the banned episodes.
Or better yet, I hope one day they give Pokemon the 'Dragon Ball Z Kai Treatment' where they filter out the fillers and unnecessary episodes and then redub it with the old actors and keep the Satoshi's name intact, or at least nickname him Ash and make it clear it's a nickname, that would both be nostalgic and more true to the original story. And make the Pokemon sound more animal-like in the dub too, Growlithe sounds like some retarded dude fake-barking. |

Honestly, I just want to hear them pronounce some of the English names this gen was given. The mon this gen have some of the strangest sounding names ever, and several of the most difficult to say (at least for me). It'll be fun hearing Pokemon USA's terrible fill ins stumble over them.
I'm also surprised they aren't calling Best Wishes, and are instead going with Black and White. Using Diamond and Pearl was lame last year and using Black and White is lame this year. |

I'd be more excited for the Pokemon news if Veronica Taylor were to voice Ash again.
1,200+ signatures don't lie. http://www.petitiononline.com/pkmnash/petition.html Now's a good time for redemption since it's a new saga. Does anyone actually prefer the "new" voices? Sure the dub is more faithful than the 4Kids version but voices is a different issue (no hard feelings to the current VAs but the 4Kids cast was much better IMO). I doubt TPTB would ever re-dub the names (main and important characters at least), since they're approved by Nintendo and etched into countless merchandise. It's unlikely they'd do it just to satisfy a small group of purists. As for the banned episodes you can see them online with subs (sorry not giving links). |

I don't really mind the new voices. Jesse and James are basically the same, and there's nothing to do about Meowth.
Ash's still sounds a bit weird, but at least he doesn't sound like a girl any more. I like to think of him as a teenager going through puberty, hence the voice change (though he's still ten years old, according to Black & White Episode 1). |

Cutting out the filler in Pokemon would result in the show not exist... Now that I think about, that's a great idea! |

We are free to bash the new voice actors here, so yeah, they all suck. Well, Billy Rodgers doesn't, but Brock isn't in BW. Ash's VA sounds like a mix between a 15 year old boy and a girl, while Ash is supposed to be 10. They got lazy with Team Rocket, especially not using Ted Lewis for James, he was pretty good when the series first started (and has a large range). Has TCPi ever used Sean Schemmel? They should, he is pretty much the best VA in NYC.
How the hell do they dub these things so damn fast? It makes you wonder why the quality is so crappy. |

I don't mind the new voices; then again I watch the original version.
And Pokemon without fillers = Best Wishes. 18 episodes in and we've yet to hit a pointless filler episode. |

Yea, he played Cyrus, the leader of Team Galactic. He also voiced the lead guy in Chronicles, but I'm not sure if they or 4Kids did that. And while I agree Sean is one the better actors in NY, Veronica Taylor and Rachel Lillis are two of the best actors in New York (Veronica is one of the best in the whole industry if you ask me), but they still got cut. |

Wow, that is a fast turnover. I thought there would be a delay in the dub at the end of Diamond and Pearl, but it looks like their rolling right into Best Wishes after the last episode.

So it is just like any other anime not based on a manga? |

I would guess this means they're only doing episodes based on in-game events, but that's hard for me to believe. I will say that Black & White has a few refreshing changes to the standard Pokemon formula. I hesitate to say it's a good show, but it's more compelling than it has been in a long time. |

Good ol' Jimmy Zoppi has a pretty good range for the fill ins, hard to believe he's always been Gary + the new roles. Although Ash was the most drastic change, it's not so bad now.
It's too bad these are the only shows to be 'debuting', but it'd take another Toonami I suppose... |

I've actually been quite excited about this for awhile. Glad to see that there's hardly any filler, and Team Rocket ACTUALLY has rockets for once.
And after 5years....I've grown used to this voice cast by now. |

Advanced Generation started to fix Pokemon; writing out old characters, introducing new things and trying to keep the series self-contained, though the Battle Frontier arc kind of dragged on and brought everything down. Diamond and Pearl improved on that. Loads of character development, a set beginning, a set ending, a lot less filler. Pretty much my favorite out of all the series so far. Best Wishes is, well, probably the best in terms of that so far. I'll admit I prefer Diamond and Pearl in a lot of ways (Hikari got so much development int hat series compared to Iris so far, but maybe that will change) but it's nice and having every episode move the plot or characters forward is pretty cool. Same with Team Rocket being competent and threatening (and not bothering with Pikachu anymore or even showing up in every episode to begin with) Though Iris is a lovable brown tsundere loli, so she's always amusing and cute to watch.
