I've been looking for releases of Naruto but the best I know is the 4th book was released in August and i could find any more information on later releases. Does anybody know a good site that closely updated for future references or when the other book will be out?
(I checked the release section but that was just DVDs, i think.)

It's expected every 3 month from the last released.

I don't see why they have to take three to five months to put out a release.
Do they have to go through an extensive editing? Or is it being placed on a backburner?

Viz first runs the chapters in Shonen Jump, usually at about 2 or 3 a month. After all the chapters have appeared in Shonen Jump, a TPB is released after a month or two usually. In Japan the rate is 4 chapters a month, so the US is considerably slower.

Of course they have to be slower otherwise they'd run out at some point.

Not if they released it one every two months, the same rate as the Japanese publisher.

Yea. I'd settle for 2 months but 3-5 thats just too long. If they do that this manga will drag on forever.

Yeah, I agree. I don't know if this will happen but, I'm afraid that I might forget the sieres or just grow tired of waiting.

Don't worry about growing tired of it. I really wasn't a huge fan of Naruto at first, but when the manga hits volume 6 or 7, the storytelling becomes exellent. I literally read 9 volumes back to back. I feel bad for the people who are going to have to wait months...

But they aren't going to go faster than the US Shonen Jump, and releasing them once every two months would mean around 4 chapters a month in US Shonen Jump which is a little much seeing as how they have other titles that need that space. Their current rate is their maximum, if they produce the graphic novels any faster then they're going to surpase Shonen Jump which would go against the point of having Naruto in there in the first place. They only way they'll speed up Naruto's GN production is if they're to drop it from Shonen Jump, and that is deffinatly not going to happen.

I would be more in favor of swiching titles out of SJ for new ones, while keeping a couple that really help it to sell (YuGiOh, DBZ), but thats never going to happen.

Viz's site does list release dates, as does their periodical emails (sent about once a month).

Not with Naruto anyway, I assume it's one of SJ's biggest draws (if not the biggest).
