You can try amazon.com. Some of the stuff they sell and review there are anime. Most of the reviews are customer reviews.

Best site you can find with reviews and plenty of release dates. |

The Anime Review is OK, but Anime on DVD has SUCH a large archive.

I generally disagree with all of them, so I suggest just using your own intuition. My bad, if thats not what you wanted to hear.

I also like the Meta Anime Review site-- it lists lots of other site's reviews under each title, giving each title an overall grade. Goes by alphabet, and also by grade. Very useful.
www.animecritic.com/_metareview/index.php I also like Anime Academy. Multiple reviews, frequenlty. Listed by alphabet, and by grade. And generally discerning reviews that I agree with. www.animeacademy.com/ Animenfo is good if you want to pass over lots and lots of different reviews for a title-- often reflective of how people felt after viewing only a few episodes, as well as how they thought of it at the end-- the site tends to get reviews from viewers of downloads, as the episodes come out, one by one. Still, lots of titles, and lots of good general info. www.animenfo.com/ Those are the three I use most often. Good hunting!! |

Ummm...I'd personally recommend Anime News Network's reviews. We even have a weekly anime review column.

I find Anime Jump's reviews to be the most helpful out of any site.
I would also like to second the Anime Meta Review Project. They aren't affiliated with every review site, but it's still pretty great. |

A bit OT, but whats a good manga review site (RTO is superb, don't get me wrong, but it doesn't have certain titles, which is understandable). I like icomics.com and find that they write pretty indepth reviews (they are a bit possitive sometimes, but its very well written). Another good site that mostly has american modern/indie comics, but some great manga reviews artbomb.net.
