I ordered this from RightStuf thinking, because of the picture used, I was supposed to get the nice box. I instead received the cheap box. Of course, if I had bothered to do some research, I would have known I got what I was supposed to. In the end, it's good I didn't and just went right to calling RS. According to the customer rep the information they got from Media Blasters was that it would be coming in the nice box but they switched it and never bothered telling them so the listing still had the old picture. She also informed me that they do have one of the nice boxes and that they would ship it out to me tomorrow. They also changed the listing. If I had done the internet search, I probably would never have called RS and I wouldn't have gotten my box.
Thank you, RightStuf! |

What crap. So MB goes through all the trouble of making a premium box (that's gorgeous by the way), but they don't use it for their premium collection? I am dumbfounded. Worst part is that this is just even more ammo for Blood- when he goes on his "I hate Media Blasters" rants.
Good thing Rightstuf is so awesome, though. I almost feel bad for using another store, but I gotta look out for my wallet. |

Yeah, that's another thing that threw me. I figured that the Premium box set would come with the nice box. I noticed something odd about the set. V.1-2 weren't shrink wrapped while 3-8 were. It's as if they took this and then proceeded to shove the rest of the singles into it and called it a "Premium" box set.

But yeah, this dumbassery needs to be ceased at once. Not using such a nice box for the PE normally just really doesn't make much sense to me, and that whole shrink wrap deal you just mentioned also dumbfounds me. Honestly, I can't blame Blood- for his rants. Actually looking forward to one now. Media Blasters didn't deserve Moribito. |

Um, they have not updated anything on the picture...
Anyhow the first box was really flimsy, while the 2nd (which was supposedly a Best Buy exclusive, and came with the last 2 volumes) was pretty sturdy. Guess which one I got??? The Best Buy one. I guess it is one of the few times when buying the singles actually paid off. Also it is one of only a couple of boxes that I own. As for the "premium" version, it is still kind of ridiculous that anybody but the hardcore collectors would spend that kind of $ on a 26 episode show spread across 8 DVDs. Especially since the show is availible for under $40 at places like Walmart (yeah I know the packaging is a stackpack which sucks). Of course when I bought the show it was about $15 a DVD so probably a bit more than the premium set, but that expense was spread out over almost a year & a half (due to the delay). |

For me TRSI's listing of the premium set is showing me this picture when it was orginially showing me this picture
The box itself wasn't a Best Buy exclusive. It coming with V.7-8 was supposed to be the exclusive part although TRSI is selling it that way and people are selling it through the Amazon Marketplace. And I paid $70 for the set. |

Actually, that deal was, and still is in some places, available at Best Buy as well. Naturally, it has a "Best Buy exclusive" sticker slapped on it - and one which was a pain in the ass to remove without damaging the box at that. It was priced at a logical 24.99, which I think, the earlier two-packs were as well. Not a bad deal. |

Ah, I see this thread got pruned. In any case, once again want to congratulate TRSI on mitigating the slimy switcheroo that MB tried to pull off.
