Now this is surprising and excellent news. The OVA looks like a really fun and awesome title just from that 3-minute promo alone and it's just great in general to see Media Blasters return to mech anime. Here's hoping that we might actually still see GaoGaiGar FINAL released in North America.

Needless to say, but Mazinkaiser SKL will be a definite purchase for me.

Very cool pickup, and glad that it's being released as a 3 episode disc by the sounds of things. Definitely getting it! I'm guessing this means we'll be seeing Lodoss Wars and Zetsubo eventually pop up on their schedule too now that their distribution issues are over.

Since it's short, will we see a dub??? Actually... if they want to release a BD, then... a dub is practically a must.

That being said, I can't help but feel that Moribito in some way...

And yes, I do hope this will imply that they'll license GGG Final sometime in the future.

Holy crap! Already picked up for license? I never would have thought SKL would have been picked up so soon, and by Media Blasters no less! Hopefully this means we might be getting Zetsubou fairly soon. Awesome news today!

Media Blasters got a new super robot series? Awesome! I can wait to see them under-promote it, and let it die a slow death for not being Voltron.

You can complain, but John Sirabella admitted that GaoGaiGar did eventually break even a couple of years ago or so. Though I love the dub for GaoGaiGar's first half I have to admit that I'm happy to see it eventually make a profit someway.

Also, it's not like MB didn't try, as they've admitted the potential Disney TV deal they were close to getting multiple times before. If you want to blame anyone, blame Disney for suddenly deciding that it wasn't worth it to air a super robot anime on their channel. This was before they eventually got Naruto Shippuden, too.

Media Blaster could have given GaoGaiGar no support, and let it get buried under their other titles but they didn't they released GaoGaiGar in a ridiculously inexpensive release. Just compare that to say Dunbine, or the various Super Robot Wars releases.

So, would I need previous MazinKaiser knowledge to like this, because that looked f*ckng awesome and I'm very interested. I do like super robot, or at least I like Gurren Lagann and G-Gundam, the only two super robot shows I've seen.

Not at all, as this Mazinkaiser has a brand-new cast and story. Hell, the Mazinkaiser in this OVA is piloted by two people, whereas it's usually only piloted by one. Going off of the trailer, it seems to be a cool mix of Mazinkaiser, Devilman, and Koutestushin Jeeg.

So when's this demise of Media Blasters that some contributors to this site who claim to be "in the know" and insist will happen any day now, going to happen again?

I'm pleased to see them continuing on, and I do hope that Zetsubou gets released soon. I've been looking forward to that for some time now. This particular show isn't my cup of tea, to be honest, I'd rather see the original Mazinger Z come out, but good for those that like this.

Cool! More "Mazinger" Anime coming to R1 DVD at last. There hasn't been any "Mazinger" Anime arriving in North America since ADV Films' release of the 7-part "MazinKaiser" miniseries. I'll be glad to look for "MazinKaier SKL" when it hits the Canadian store shelves.

Thank you, Media Blasters. You made my day!

well I am going to be negative about this one, instead of announcing new licenses, why not release some shows you keep delaying, or just never talk about after you say you licensed them.....
