It's been a long while since we've done a nice little call-out show, so here's one for you!

Up front we've got a short segment with Justin rejoining the show, and we chat about the Oscars and just what it is that makes crappy sci-fi anime based on light novels stand out so much.

After that we have George, who sparks a cool conversation about the license-rescue "renaissance", what's coming out from the 80s and 90s and what we'd all like to see resurrected from the past.

Up next is Rob, who really wants to talk about why shows like Ikki Tousen and Queen's Blade and whatnot seem to be roundly rejected by critics, even when they have stories that might be worth your attention. If you listen closely there's a little arguing in this one! Fun times!

Then it's all Wayne all the time as we dissect anime remakes and the apparent philosophy behind them - are they good? Bad? A benevolent force or an evil one? Do they obscure their worthwhile predecessors? Also, what the hell is up with those digest movies?

And finally Marc from Fanboyreview.net talks to us about what sort of production mistakes a company is actually responsible for. Should they replace your DVD if the cover art is off by a half-centimeter? What about a typo in the subtitles? It's all here on ANNCast!!
