| Chibits (special) | Very good | Although this is a VERY short continuation to the initial series, (its more of a short joke). The enitire idea for the ep is Original and Hilarious, (no spoilers). The only thing that put me off is the sudden change in Chii's Voice (almost as if she is suffering from a sore throat or something)...This is also seen in the English Dubbed version. Nevertheless, since the story is centered on the 2 miniature persocoms, its not really important.. |
| Chobits (TV) | Excellent | 1 of my personal Favs, The entire concept of Robots (persocoms) + Human Relationships sounds highly realistic in the near future, and this idea of a world where humans and persocoms co-existing together (although not original) is fairly interesting. The idea of using an individual (Hideki) who is a computer-newb is simply a stroke of genius for the way he thinks and relates to persocoms/Other forms of technology (eg.Internet/DVDs) as well as the fact that he usually lives in a rural area, how he learns to live a city life is hilarious. This Romance Comedy on how an ordinary Prep School Student falls in love with a chobit (legendary Persocom: A extraordinary persocom in a special classification) is heart-warming. The dark story of the origins of the persocom is slowly released in the later eps where the humor is substantially reduced but the gripping plotline is captivating enough to make up for it. The art and animation is pretty much the standard level of any other anime, where the characters will appear more mature in comparison with other shows. (as expected from a CLAMP series) However what captivates me is also the great VAs. (Chi is just soo Kawaii) as well as the miniature persocoms (Sumomo and Kotoko) is cute as well. |
