VoxVot: A New Mecha Project from Japan
Tokyo, Japan, May 2, 2022 - Today, Tokyo-based anime company VLINKS Inc. announced the forthcoming release of VoxVot, an NFT collection to be launched on the Ethereum blockchain this summer.
VoxVots are a series of 10,000 unique NFT robots each with their own special accessories and custom designs. No two VoxVots are alike, and each has been specially created by a team in Japan.
The VoxVot project is being personally overseen by mecha legend and anime professional Masanobu Oka (OkaPro), a name synonymous with Gundam design and modeling in Japan. Inspired by robot anime, as well as classic science fiction, VoxVot is a chance for Japanese creators to sidestep the gatekeepers and directly connect their vision to the world.
Phase one of VoxVot will consist of NFTs sold on the Ethereum blockchain, but keep in mind that VoxVots are more than just another digital art project. The team in Japan is now hard at work on an original VoxVot manga, plastic models, collectible figures, a Metaverse world within SANDBOX, and even a blockchain P2E (Play to Earn) game all set in a far-future world where humanity begins to re-emerge after the robot apocalypse only to find a new battle between the VoxVots awaiting them.
Vincent Shortino, previously the founder of Crunchyroll Japan and currently the CEO of Octas LLC, has been selected to assist with business development. Of his new venture, Shorttino explains, “Octas LLC seeks to bring unique and talented Japanese artist's works directly to the world. OkaPro's amazing output spans across manga, anime, and mecha. His past clients include the likes of Takashi Murakami, Bandai, Gundam, and Evangelion. With VoxVot, OkaPro is leaning into his talents to bring together an amazing new IP that together we will transform into a global hit. Watch this space!"
