Gundam Wing and Death Note Voice Actor Brad Swaile Comes to Matsuricon 2014
Voice actor for "Light" and "Quatre" is appearing in Columbus, Ohio for Matsuricon weekend.
COLUMBUS, OH - May 22nd, 2014 - Matsuricon is excited to announce its newest guest - the voice of Light Yagami and Quatre Winner, voice actor Brad Swaile.
Vancouver-born and raised, Brad began acting at a relatively young age and, once in high school, had his first audition for an animated series. This first voice acting gig took the form of a pony named “Ace” in My Little Pony Tales and soon afterwards, he landed his first anime role as “Mousse” in Ranma 1/2. Some of his more notable anime characters include: Light (Death Note), Amuro, Quatre, Dearka, Auel and Setsuna (on their respective Gundam series' - from Mobile Suit to 00 ), Gohan (Dragon Ball Z), Rock (Black Lagoon), Ryuki (The Story of Saiunkoku), Kicker (Transformers: Energon) and Lan (Mega Man: NT Warrior).
Amongst many Gundam video game titles, in Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 3, you can watch Brad in conversation with himself as both “Setsuna” and “Amuro”, as well as the deranged mascot “Slappy” in CAPCOM's Dead Rising 2. More recently, he can be heard as “Jin Kazama” in Street Fighter X Tekken and as “Kurou” in the anime series Kurozuka.
Some North American cartoon characters include “Nightcrawler” on X-Men Evolution and other voice projects including Barbie, Matchbox, Double Dragon and Sonic the Hedgehog. Over the years, Brad has worked on several anime series' including Inu-Yasha, Hamtaro, Soul Taker, Nurse Witch Komugi, Maison Ikkoku, Hikaru no Go, Infinite Ryvius, Tokyo Underground, Project ARMS, Boys Over Flowers, Kimba the White Lion, Shakugan no Shana, Dokkoida?!, Saber Marionette J, Video Girl Ai, Arjuna, Zoids, Powerpuff Girls Z and Dragon Drive.
Along with voice acting, Brad continues to work professionally as a Graphic Designer/Illustrator and, when not at the hockey rink or on the baseball field, enjoys playing drums and guitar (often while doodling in his sketchbook).
Also scheduled to appear at Matsuricon 2014 are voice actors, Chuck Huber, Erik Kimerer, Erica Mendez, Darrel Guilbeau, Scott Freeman, Micah Solusod, Ayu Sakata, Johnny Yong Bosch, Lauren Landa and Danielle McRae. Matsuricon also has musical acts Eyeshine, Professor Shyguy, and the Symphonic Anime Orchestra, all scheduled to perform throughout the weekend!
