Konami Digital Entertainment Summons Duelists to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for the 2011 Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game North American World Championship Qualifier
Thousands of Duelists from around the United States and Canada to attend this celebrated Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game event
El Segundo, CA (July 7, 2011) – Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game (TCG) Duelists have been playing their hardest throughout the year for the opportunity to Duel in the invitation-only Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game North American World Championship Qualifier (WCQ) 2011 to be held July 16th – 17th. Traveling from every corner of the United States and the farthest reaches of the Provinces, avid players are expected to descend on Pittsburgh, PA to compete for the title of North American Champion.
Many will come to Pittsburgh with aspirations of standing in the winner's circle after spending months fine-tuning their Decks and game-play strategies preparing for this premier level WCQ event. But after two days of head-to-head competition only one will be victorious. The winner and the next five top finishers will be invited to compete at Konami Digital Entertainment's (Konami) World Championship, which will be held in Amsterdam in August, where players from around the world will compete for the coveted title of World Champion.
The North American World Championship Qualifier will also offer exciting Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG public events on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday that include Win-A-Mat tournaments, Pegasus Challenge events, ATTACK OF THE GIANT CARD!!, and Ever Changing Rules for all ages, and Dragon Duel tournaments for Duelists aged 12 and under. There will also be 2012 Regional Qualifier tournaments on Sunday.
Adding another exciting element to the weekend, Konami is proud to present the actors Greg Abbey the voice of Yusei and Dan Snyder who voices Yugi. In addition, Konami is also hosting the 2011 Yu-Gi-Oh! Video Game World Championship Qualifier. Top video game Duelists will test their skills playing Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's World Championship 2011 – Over the Nexus with the top two winners earning a spot at the World Championship Tournament.
