Yasumicon to Be Held in FIU North Campus' Wolfe University Center
CONVENTION LOCATION CHANGE
Yasumicon to be held in FIU North Campus' Wolfe University Center
Miami, Fl, June 1, 2010 - Yasumicon 2010 has moved from FIU south campus to north campus by Biscayne Bay. The convention is now being run in the Wolfe University Center building on July 17th and July 18th.
Wolfe University Center
FIU Biscayne Bay Campus
3000 N.E. 151st Street
North Miami, Florida 33181
Everything about the convention remains the same except our closing hours. All events and rooms will close at 7:00pm. Yasumicon is, as always, free and open to the public.
Wendy Lo presents panels throughout South Florida Conventions on Japanese culture: "Yasumi-con always draws a huge crowd compare to the others. One main reason is because it is a FREE convention and this appeals to parents who wants to bring their children. Other conventions' admission price can range from $20-45 per person. Yasumi-con offers families and students a way to enjoy an event together without straining their pocketbook, especially during these hard economic times."

ABOUT YASUMICON - Florida's largest free anime convention, run by Anything Goes Anime non-profit club, South Miami Anime Club, and many volunteering organizations, is made possible through every sponsor who chooses to attend Yasumicon each year as well as FIU's sponsorship. Our event is light hearted, and its goal is for those of us who enjoy Japanese culture and animation to gather and learn about the organizations that are related to the culture in Florida and meet other friends from throughout the state and beyond who share the same interests. http://www.yasumicon.com/
ABOUT ANYTHING GOES ANIME - Anything Goes Anime Film Club (better known as AGA) has been dedicated to bringing free anime to the public at FIU since 1997. Our motto is the public awareness of Japanese Animation, or a Anime for short. Since the club's beginning we've gathered at FIU South Campus Thursdays and North Campus Wednesdays as well as hosted special anime events. AGA started Yasumicon in 2003. http://www.aganime.org/
ABOUT SMAC - The South Miami Anime Club was formed in late 2009 by a group of exiles who wanted to keep spreading their nerdy love of Asian culture through animation, printed media, music, and games to the people in South Miami with a fun and approachable environment. http://www.southmiamianimeclub.org/
