ADV Sweeps Fan Polls, Recognized As "Favorite Anime Company"
ADV SWEEPS FAN POLLS
Named “Overall Favorite Anime Company”
Second Year in a Row
HOUSTON, January 4, 2006 —ADV Films, the number one producer-distributor of anime in North America, is proud to announce a clean sweep of all three categories in the Anime News Network's year-end fan polls. Readers named ADV their “Favorite Anime Distribution Company” for quality of production, “Favorite Anime Licensor” for titles released, and “Overall Favorite Anime Company” for 2005.
Anime News Network is the Internet's most-trafficked English language site for anime news and reviews. Nearly 2700 fans responded to the poll, with more than a third of them naming ADV their “Overall Favorite Anime Company,” taking into account the quality of ADV releases, titles licensed, release schedule, customer service, and other factors.
“ADV Films has been doing a stellar job releasing a wide variety of very different fan favorites, including Gantz, Azumanga Daioh, and Full Metal Panic!,” said Anime News Network Editor In Chief Christopher Macdonald. “ADV's wide variety of releases, which cover the entire spectrum of anime fandom, means they released many people's favorites, even though those favorites are completely different. This strategy is a clear winner, perhaps a better strategy than chasing after the one mega-title that everyone will like.”
“ADV is an anime company built by fans, for fans,” said Senior Vice President for Sales and Marketing Mike Bailiff. “Fan support is very important to us, and we're extremely grateful for the recognition from Anime News Network's readers.”
This marks the second year in a row that ADV has won each of the Anime News Network's three poll categories. Full poll results can be found through the links below.
