ADV Launches Godannar October 24
ADV LAUNCHES GODANNAR OCTOBER 4
In the Bedroom and On the Battlefield
It Takes Two to Tangle!
HOUSTON, August 19, 2005—ADV Films, the number one producer-distributor of anime in North America, is pleased to announce that Godannar: Engage & Destroy, the first volume in the seven disc series, will hit store shelves everywhere October 4. Godannar is the first of four new ADV Films series to launch in October.
Godannar is a genre-bending mecha anime series best described as equal parts action, adventure, and domestic soap opera. While much of anime is populated by high school vixens, magical fairies, and femme fatales, it's rare to find a married couple at the center of the story. And that's just one of the reasons Godannar stand out. That, and a female giant robot that jiggles. And a fantastic opening theme song.
Anime Insider describes Godannar as “one of the most purely entertaining anime of the entire year… Incredible robot action, great characters and a truly impressive amount of fan service blended together for Maximum entertainment.”
Synopsis: Five years ago, as the Mimetic Beasts laid waste to Japan, Dannar Pilot Go saved young Anna Aoi's life. Now, as they prepare to march down the aisle, a new Beast appears and Go is summoned into battle once more. But he's not going alone, not if his blushing bride to be can help it! It's a honeymoon from hell as two stubborn mecha pilots bump heads, egos and other bits; but if Anna and Go can mate their robots' interlocking parts, they'll form the ultimate marriage of man, woman and machine! The battle of the sexes and the battle for the future of mankind are fought simultaneously in the wildest giant robot series ever, GODANNAR!
Godannar: Engage & Destroy (SRP $29.98 DVD) is a DVD-only release including episodes one through five presented in both English 5.1 and Japanese 2.0 with English subtitles.
