Houston, TX – January 13, 2005. Kamikaze Con proudly presents Kumi Koda to Houston, TX, live in concert at the Hyatt Regency Downtown Houston on March 25th, 2005, at 8pm. Fan favorite Kumiko Katō will be performing as opening act. Kumi Koda: Currently one of the most active and exciting pop singers in Japan, Kumi continues to gain fans on both sides of the Pacific. Since her debut single, “Take Back,” hit the shelves on December 6, 2000, Kumi started a wave of releases, which includes twelve singles and three successful albums (Affection, Grow Into One, and Feel My Mind). Kumi is also known for the Japanese versions of “Real Emotion” and “1000 no Kotoba” (1000 Words), which were themes for the widely popular Final Fantasy X-2 video game. More recently, she performed the theme song for the live-action movie version of Cutey Honey, as well as taking a small role in the movie herself. With her R&B and pop infused songs, her exciting dance moves, and her playfully sexy style, Kumi continues to push the creative envelope in Japanese music.
