Yen Press Launches in India Through Partnership with Hachette

Light novel, manga licensor Yen Press' services will launch in India on February 3

Light novel and manga licensor Yen Press announced on Thursday that it will partner with Hachette India, Hachette UK, and Hachette Australia. Its services will launch in India on February 3.

Publisher and managing director of Yen Press Kurt Hassler stated that the company is "thrilled to be expanding this partnership working with Hachette UK, India, and Australia & New Zealand and [is looking] forward to increasing the availability of manga, light novels, and manhwa at a global level together."

Manga Planet India launched in India in November 2023 priced ₹99 per month.

Select titles from Viz Media's Shonen Jump+ service and MANGA Plus service are also available in India.

The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India and Media and Entertainment Association of India (MEAI) is hosting the WAVES Anime & Manga Contest (WAM!) across India which aims at "harnessing the growing interest in manga and anime in India and a constituent of World Audio Visual Entertainment Summit (WAVES)" while offering "a platform for Indian talent to create localized versions of popular Japanese styles, appealing to both local and global audiences."
