MediaLink Opens Sasaki and Miyano Anime Film in Taiwan on April 21

Hong Kong content distributor MediaLink Entertainment Limited began streaming a Chinese-subtitled trailer on Friday for Sasaki to Miyano: Sotsugyo-hen (Graduation Chapter), the new anime film based on Shō Harusono's Sasaki and Miyano manga. The trailer reveals that MediaLink will open the film in Taiwan on April 21.
The film opened in Japan on February 17, and screened alongside an anime short adaptation of Harusono's Hirano and Kagiura spinoff manga.
Shinji Ishihira returned to direct the film at Studio DEEN. Other returning staff members include Takahiro Ueno as assistant director, Yoshiko Nakamura as screenwriter, Maki Fujii as character designer, and Kana Shibue as composer.
Returning cast members include:
- Yusuke Shirai as Shumei Sasaki
- Sōma Saitō as Yoshikazu Miyano
- Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Taiga Hirano
- Yūki Ono as Jiro Ogasawara
- Yūma Uchida as Masato Hanzawa
- Ryōhei Arai as Tasuku Kuresawa
- Mitsuhiro Ichiki as Gonzaburo Tashiro
- Nobunaga Shimazaki as Akira Kagiura
The band Miracle Chimpanzee returned from the earlier television anime to perform the theme song "March."
The television anime adaptation of Harusono's Sasaki and Miyano manga premiered in January 2022 and aired for 12 episodes. MediaLink's Ani-One Asia streaming service streamed the anime as it aired in Japan.
An OVA for the franchise shipped on DVD with the ninth volume of the main manga on July 27. Harusono drafted the original anime episode, titled "Koi ni Kizuku Mae no Chotto Shita Hanashi." The episode is considered the 13th episode of the television anime series. Ani-One Asia also streamed the OVA.
