Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun premieres on January 10, In/Spectre on January 12

Animax Asia announced on Wednesday that it will air simulcasts of the Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun and In/Spectre anime series. Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun will premiere on January 10 at 8:30 p.m. GMT +8, while In/Spectre will premiere on January 12 at 9:00 p.m. GMT +8.

Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun is a television anime adaptation of Iro Aida's manga of the same name. The anime will premiere on TBS on January 9 at 25:58 (effectively January 10 at 1:58 a.m.) before airing later that week on SUN, CBC, and BS-TBS. The show will have 12 episodes.

Yen Press is releasing the manga digitally in English, and it describes the story:

"Hanako-san, Hanako-san...are you there?"

At Kamome Academy, rumors abound about the school's Seven Mysteries, one of which is Hanako-san. Said to occupy the third stall of the third floor girls' bathroom in the old school building, Hanako-san grants any wish when summoned. Nene Yashiro, an occult-loving high school girl who dreams of romance, ventures into this haunted bathroom...but the Hanako-san she meets there is nothing like she imagined! Kamome Academy's Hanako-san...is a boy!

Masaomi Andō (Astra Lost in Space, School-Live!, Hakumei and Mikochi) is directing the anime at Lerche (School-Live!, Scum's Wish, Kino's Journey - The Beautiful World). Yasuhiro Nakanishi (Carole & Tuesday, Descending Stories: Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinju, BanG Dream!) is both overseeing and writing the series scripts. Mayuka Itou (chief animation director for Hakumei and Mikochi) is designing the characters, and Yūji Higa is the animation producer. "Chibaku Shōnen Band" — a new musical unit comprised of Yoji Ikuta (from Penguin Research), musician Masayoshi Ōishi, and ZiNG — are performing the opening theme song "No.7." Akari Kitō is performing the ending theme song "Tiny Light."

In/Spectre is a television anime adaptation of Kyo Shirodaira and Chasiba Katase's manga of the same name.

Kodansha Comics is publishing the manga in English, and it describes the supernatural mystery romance:

When she was still just a girl, Kotoko was kidnapped by yokai. These spirits made her into a powerful intermediary between the spirit and human worlds, but this power came at a price: an eye and a leg. Now, years later, she watches out for dangerous yokai while developing feelings for a young man named Kuro, who is also special: an incident with a yokai has given him healing powers. He's surprised when Kotoko asks him to team up to handle renegade yokai, preserving the thin line between reality and the supernatural.

Keiji Gotoh (Kiddy Grade, Endride, Sengoku Collection) is directing the anime at Brains Base, and Noboru Takagi (Durarara!!, Golden Kamuy, Kuroko's Basketball) is in charge of the series scripts. Takatoshi Honda (RIN-NE conceptual design) is designing the characters and serving as chief animation director. NAS is presenting the project.

Lie and a Chameleon is writing and performing the opening theme song "Mononoke in the Fiction." Mamoru Miyano is performing the anime's ending theme song.
